Terribly overpriced and disappointing breakfast given all the positive reviews
Pros:

Location was good and we went to the land bridge to the island a couple of times. There were 2 beds in our room which was spacious and had a bathtub. Bathroom towels were nice and coffee and hot. Chocolate in the lobby every day.

Cons:

For charging over $600 a night, I thought this was an atrocious choice. There is no closet and no basic hotel amenities like slippers or bathrobes that come with rooms that cost a quarter of this. Understand that this is the end of peak season but having lived all over the world and travelled a ton, I was deeply disappointed in this hotel. Beds were extremely soft and uncomfortable for my back and neck. The pillows were stuffed into pillowcases that are too small further exacerbating neck pain after sleep. No fridge or water boiler or coffee maker in the room. Cheap low quality shampoo and body gel that weren’t even replenished the next day. The front desk receptionist who checked us in wasn’t friendly (very stand offish) which was strange since the people in Maine we encountered generally were friendly. Restaurant staff was very friendly and attentive other than one woman who was also very stand offish, strange. Breakfast sides were all prepared early so were rubbery and cold every morning. The entrees were covered in sauce of some variety (extremely over dressed) and not kid friendly. Only water dispenser we found was next to reception on ground floor and ice machine is in the basement next to the parking garage. Elevator got extremely busy during mornings so we took the stairs a lot. The parking lot on site was usually full so there’s a lot across the street

It was a great stay in a central but peaceful location.
Pros:

Modern and clean property. Breakfast was great and the happy hour was great. Our bartender was terrific and prepared some amazing drinks.

Cons:

There was not daily housekeeping unless you specifically request it. When we did, the rooms were not cleaned until 3:00. We had to also request new towels.

Absolutely a great stay!
Pros:

The location is truly great and very good access around Bar Harbor. The breakfast menu was truly wonderful AND they allowed us to make minor adjustments to it. I held off from getting the cream filled blue berry French toast because I need more protein for hiking that day. Finally, on the 3rd morning I asked if there was any way that I could have an egg added to the blue berry French toast and she smiled and said yes, absolutely! What a mistake that I didn't have it sooner! it was incredible!!!! Truly! The small fresh baked muffins, while you wait was a very pleasant way to start breakfast off. My favorite was the blue berry one, but all the flavors were great. Thank you!

Beautiful hotel, great location, some minor gripes but overall highly recommend.
Pros:

Location is fantastic, easy to get to, dedicated parking, clean rooms, nice onsite restaurant, courteous and professional staff. Decor is very modern and pleasant.

Cons:

Parking is tight, larger vehicles are difficult to get in/out. Also, ask for a room away from Cottage Street - noise level is quite high if you're trying to rest. Our room was on 1st floor and people walking/talking on the sidewalks might as well have been in our room.

Comfortable and convenient
Pros:

The bed and pillows are amazing and you can’t beat the location. Pretty decor. Cozy room. Restaurant in the building. Plenty of parking in the garage or overflow parking across the street.

Cons:

The light beige hall carpets are already trashed/stained. When you get off the elevator there is no directional signage. You have to walk down each hall to see how the numbers go. The front desk agent was not very informative and no smile. Not friendly. The shower has nowhere to put soap/shampoo. No coffee in the room.

Comfort. Convenience. Cuisine. Caring. Perfect!
Pros:

Loved the location - in town but not on the Main Street. Just close enough walk to shops/restaurants, but not too close.
The staff were friendly and courteous. We loved the breakfast in The Ovens restaurant. Great parking included.
Coffee in the lobby. No complaints whatsoever!

Cons:

Can't think of a thing. Everything was great. Would definitely stay here again.

Acadia vacation 26
Pros:

Parking, breakfast, bed

Cons:

Room rate price is high for a noisy location across the street from Jordans restaurant that opens at 3:30am for delivery and commercial work truck people. Wow that truck noise was ridiculous. Dinner was disappointing for a hotel that should have been my best first night dinner. When I asked for cream for my coffee at the complementary coffee station I was told not today. I guess my room rate of $600 dollars a night was not paying for that cream for my coffee. When you charge these high room rates you should provide the best service. Its the little things that count. This is typical corporate owned property hospitality they count every bean. Next time I will stay in a quiet privately owned B&B on a residential street they give the best bang for the buck every time.

I would recommend The Pathmaker to others and make sure you take advantage of the breakfast!
Pros:

I really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return to The Pathmaker should I come to Bar Harbor again. Everything was within walking distance. The building is beautiful and has classy decor, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff.
The breakfasts that were included with your stay were absolutely delicious! The portions were substantial and presentation was beautiful.

Cons:

Parking was a pain, and getting our stuff from the car to our room inconvenient.,,but really unavoidable. There isn’t much they could do, other than have staff assist with getting the carts from the basement and bringing luggage to our room. Fortunately we are able bodied, but it would be difficult for done.
