A grand stay at a beautiful old hotel. Would go again
Pros:

A most beautifully restored grand old dame of a building. We had a room on floor 2 with a magnificent view. The style of the restoration is fantastic and the room was spotless and spacious. The bathroom was also huge and beautifully renovated.

Definitely not good value for the $288 per night cost.
Pros:

Location great. The receptionist was very helpful when she returned from assisting another customer. The staff, in general, were very helpful.

Cons:

Not enough staff to cope with the workload. The bedroom was quite small with a wardrobe, fridge and small table leaving very little space around the bed and the view from our bedroom window was of a galvanized iron roof.

Pros:

We were picked up at the ferry terminus upon our arrival.
We were driven to a winery for lunch then picked up afterwards and taken back to the ferry.

Cons:

Unfortunately there was no breakfast served

Disappointing
Pros:

The booths downstairs we loved
Where we sat together playing cards

Cons:

The windows were filthy
Room 206 was cold
Unfortunately fire alarm woke all of us up we were all fast asleep
We did not feel confident to stay after evacuation
Then told there was no refund for the rest of our booking for 2 more nights 😔disappointing

Wonderful location and fabulous staff.
Pros:

The hotel is in a superb location overlooking the harbour but the best feature is the staff who could not have been more friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and even extended to a free shuttle bus ride to a winery restaurant and back again to the ferry despite the fact that we had already checked out.

Cons:

The reviews of the restaurant were not good so we ate at other restaurants nearby. They are in the process of dealing with this issue.
