Comfy bed, bright fresh room, friendly staff, good meal, welcoming log fire in the bar, lovely 1880s architecture. Right by the railway station, so great for train enthusiasts.
The frayed carpet on the stairs needs replacing, and it will be grand when the balcony can be opened again. But hey - the new owners are doing a terrific job at renovation, and "Rome wasn't built in a day".
Centre of town
Old but slowly getting some love
Staff friendly, hotel with character, hotel food was good, shower hot and strong, bed comfortable.
Hotel needs a lot of TLC. Balcony closed for repairs, most bathrooms closed for repairs (not many staying so not an issue). Milk in fridge for coffee/tea was over a week out of date and bins overflowing.
The bed was comfy.
The showers.
Room was good bed are comfortable
I absolutely loved the heritage feel. Beautiful warm rooms that made you feel at home, the shared facilities were exceptionally clean, overall was the best decision to stay at the Junee Hotel!
Nothing! The place is beautiful!
No breakfast. Within walking distance of what we were in Junee for
Probably the shared bathrooms but we knew what we were getting so there were no surprises
Beautiful old hotel- but don’t judge it by the outside! Partially renovated, room was clean and comfortable. Walked in on a cold day to a warm room, so good! Restaurant has good food. Great owner and staff
The bathrooms had not been yet renovated, and I think it will be great when they are.
The location was really the only highlight - it's fabulously central.
The bedside lamp - it worked, and it was great.
Possibly the worst experience I've had in years. I was not expecting much, being an old pub, either.
The room was a horror. I can't imagine it had been cleaned in any meaningful way, although there was a freshly folded towel on the (kind of) made bed. But that was it. The bed cover was stained. There was a crushed insect (a wasp or something) on the pillow. The sheets did not feel fresh. There was a used towel still hanging on the bedroom door. There was rubbish (lolly wrappers etc) in the corner on the carpet, and the carpet was dirty also, so clearly had not been cleaned.
The wifi password I was given did not work. It was short a digit. There were what looked like big bugs stuck to the very high ceiling - all I could do was hope they stayed there through the night! The window was cracked. There were bright hallway lights on all night, and my room had a big glass pane over the door into the hallway, uncovered, which rendered the room as light as day. There was a TV bracket in the room, but no TV. You got a bed, a lamp, and a round lamp table. That's it. The room itself though is quite large.
Some of the bathrooms were closed (under renovation the signs said) so there was quite a bit of competition for the remaining ones, as the hotel appeared to be fully occupied, largely by men. The bathrooms are MIXED SEX, and not particularly clean. This probably should be noted somewhere. There was a lounge area available, and tea and coffee - but upon opening the fridge, I found the milk to be two days out of date.
The carpet in the hallways, and especially on the stairs, is nothing short of diabolically old, and is a great trip hazard, given there's 3 flights of stairs.
I ate in the bar downstairs - and it was OK, once I figured out where the cutlery was. The girl who delivered my meal without any had no idea where it might be, and told me to "ask at the bar" - which I did.
The cleanliness needs urgent attention.
Excellent value for money great staff and foid
