The location of the hotel was perfect. The town is literally at your doorstep, a museum was right next door, and there were restaurants within a walking distance of less than 5 minutes. The staff was extremely nice and my room was very comfortable, with a great view of the town and ocean. All of the hotel's amenities exceeded my expectations as well.
Very friendly and helpful staff who could not do enough to help. Hotel very clean and easily accessible. Excellent location. Breakfast and dinner had good choice and food was very good.
This is a beautiful property and perfect location. It does not feel like a chain hotel, has a boutique, historic feel to it. The rooms are extremely large and easy to walk to all restaurants and shops in Ponta Delgada. The staff was so engaging and pleasant, always helpful and accommodating. We will definitely plan to stay at the other Vila Gale properties!
The breakfast was very nice but a few items that made us question their "why". You are given one glass at your table and no additional glasses were available at juice bar. The omelette station where most people waited in line was confusing as some people ordered from their table. Some minor changes that could have made the morning breakfast easier for staff and customers.
Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und professionell. Das Hotel ist einem sehr gutem Zustand, sehr sauber. Die Zimmer waren geräumig und die Betten hervorragend. Die Lage ist nur wenige Gehminuten vom Hafen und der Marina. Das Essen, wir hatten Halbpension, war von sehr guter Qualität, es waren sehr gute Produkte verarbeitet.
Kleine Abstriche beim Restaurant: es waren nicht immer alle Speisen zu jeder Zeit verfügbar und hätte nach unserem Geschmack etwas heißer sein können

The room was big & beautiful with a killer view. The location made it easy to get everywhere in the downtown area. Breakfast was really nice good.

Paying (and expensive) parking and not big enough.
Interior pool opened only until 8pm and requiring the use of a swimming cap - which is not said anywhere beforehand - that the hotel sells for 4€/each. This is ridiculous for this kind of standing hotel in addition to the absurdity of the rule.
Necessity to use stairs to access some rooms in addition to elevators.
Very old and horrible style of the bathroom despite the hotel has been recently refurbished + terrible finishings
No electric kettle in the room - the only of all hotels we traveled to in the Azores.
