We really enjoyed our stay, the room was spacious and clean, the bed was massive and very comfortable. It was a pleasure to stay at such a beautiful location, would return any time.

As plantas e o jardim
O quarto era extremadamente pequeno, a casa de banho minúscula e sem privacidade, alguns detalhes de manutenção partidos, a qualidade do pequeno almoço era muito básica. Para entrar ao spa era preciso pagar mais 20€ p/p extra e dava para ficar somente 1 hora.
There was some charm to the property, especially the grounds and the quiet area. The only advantage was the proximity to the rental car return and airport.
We had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but it ended the moment we arrived. There was no one to check us in, even though we arrived before the self-check in period (we did not have self check in instructions). The room was really hot and we were not able to adjust the temperature. The bed was not comfortable (especially the pillows). The breakfast was meh - we felt like we were eating it just to not be hungry but was not like our other stays in Madeira. Mostly, we were disappointed bc the booking said that a sauna was available and did not specify an extra charge (this was the reason we booked this place as our last stop in Madeira but traveling home). Turns out, the sauna costs an extra 20 euro per person, per hour! This was outrageous and was not clearly advertised. When we addressed the misadvertisement of the sauna and fees, the host still insisted on the cost. 40 euros for a couple for 1 hour of sauna felt outrageous, so we opted to go to a hotel and do a day pass to the spa instead.

Das melhores estadias de sempre. Superou as expectativas, foi muito melhor do que alguns hotéis de 5 e 4 estrelas onde já estive. Excelente espaço, staff muito atencioso e simpático, comida caseira e fresca, um belo sítio para descontrair, praticar yoga, sentir a natureza.
Se retrouver comme dans un chateau dans un autre temps. Tŕès agréable.
Très joli établissement à la décoration personnalisée et atypique, tout en couleur. Agréable salon commun et jolie chambre avec une literie confortable.
Excellent petit déjeuner
Et très gentille attention de la part de la personne de l'établissement qui nous a proposé de nous préparer le petit déjeuner dès 7h (et non 8h) car nous avions un vol matinal.
Nous avons fait plusieurs établissements à Madère, et le plus souvent des petites structures type Quinta. Il est vrai que celle-ci était de loin la plus chère (peut-être car proche de Funchal) sans comprendre pourquoi un tel prix était proposé au regard de ce que nous avons payé dans les autres établissements. Le rapport qualité prix reste à notre sens insuffisant.
Bémol aussi sur le jardin avec une vue marquée par les lotissements alentours et jardin peu calme car gêné par le bruit très important de la ventilation de la piscine municipale qui est juste à côté.
Globalement d'ailleurs le site autour de l'établissement n'est pas très agréable (zone commerciale de la petite ville)
Enfin deux petites choses :
- dommage de n'avoir personne pour accueillir même pour une arrivée à 18h30
- bouilloire en chambre certes mais thé payant (seule fois où cela était comme cela, dommage pour ce prix)
Everything about Villa Camelia Boutique House was absolutely wonderful. The location on the island is perfect — peaceful and away from the crowds, yet still close enough to the town and hiking trails. The space is incredibly generous and gives a real sense of privacy.
Every single detail has been thoughtfully designed: the copper shower, striped towels and baskets, yoga mats — everything feels curated with love and style. The pool is amazing, and the whole place has such a beautiful atmosphere and soul. As someone who truly loves interiors, I appreciated every corner of this villa.
The breakfasts were delicious, and Berta, who prepares them, is absolutely lovely. The entire staff was incredibly kind and welcoming — from the housekeeping team to the gardeners. The owner is also wonderful; you can really feel how much care and heart has gone into creating this place. It genuinely feels like home.
Honestly, I’m almost afraid to leave such a glowing review because I definitely want to come back, and I hope this hidden gem never loses its charm.
