The facilities, the location and the amenities
The cleaning of the room was rushed and unsatisfactory
It's a beautiful place. The rooms are clean and the food was delicious
When we had to bath around 08:30, there was no hot water
Hotel is totally overrated. I was extremely upset that I phoned them for their best rate which they claimed was R 3850.00 but they chose not to tell me that they had a special on . I had to book on Booking.com to get the valid rate. I find that inherently dishonest. Decor is generic and without anything that would justify a full rate.
The staff was really exceptional and I loved the restaurants and design of the hotel.
First night we struggled with hot water in the shower.
The service at reception is so amazing they even gave us an upgrade,the place is very clean and their food is amazing especially breakfast.
The staff making breakfast was unprofessional and condescending.
The location is great, lots of activities to do around
This doesn’t live up to the Radisson standard that we’ve become accustomed to. The aesthetic and feel is similar to the Radisson in Livingston but the service is the complete opposite. The staff seem overwhelmed, and as such, the service is really poor. On all 4 mornings at breakfast, we constantly had to ask for refills as things would run out and no proactive efforts were made to replenish. Cream, milk, syrup, honey. This happened everyday.
The rooms were also not serviced timeously, even with a “please tidy” signage placed on the door. We had to call reception on two separate occasions for assistance.
What shocked me the most is that we had to pay for slippers as there were none in our room. Again, very different to other Radissons. We also had to ask for bath robes. We were told that the reason that these aren’t supplied is because they are reserved for Premium and suite customers. Meanwhile, on the website, it clearly states that these items are standard in interconnected rooms - the only rooms that accommodate families. Suites and premium rooms weren’t an option for us with a 4 and 6 year old.
Lastly, the food at the Mirage was disappointing. We ordered a medium steak and it was well done. On the second attempt it was rare. We ended up not eating it but paid for it anyway. Again, the staff needs a lot of training and development, both customer facing and behind the scenes.
The establishment is beautiful but doesn’t have the Radisson experience and touch. Perhaps it’s still teething issues as I believe it’s only been open for two years but please remember that customer loyalty is heavily dependent on fulfilled expectations.
