Beautiful castle and grounds in Bilbao proximity
Pros:

Wonderful building located on a hill in Getxo, 20 min drive away from central Bilbao. Magnificent interiors. Beautiful views.

Cons:

With a price tag of almost 800€ incl breakfast in August the spa should have been included.
Despite the small number of guests the staff at breakfast seemed to be overwhelmed, the service was poor.

Lovely property, small rooms, far from Bilbao attractions. Two different staff experiences - great front office/vale
Pros:

Beautiful stately manor house that looks like a castle with rooms on a wing outside where we stayed. Really helpful front office staff! No ce breakfast on terrace overlooking Getxo harbor. Very scenic!

Cons:

Restaurant staff disorganized. Took 3 tries to get a coffee on day one. They seemed frazzled and mixing up orders and generally not in sync with the superior service of the staff at reception and those parking the car. Huge disparity between the two experiences. Not befitting leading hotel of the world. Also the rooms are small for the price being paid. Getxo is 20-minutes by cab for 30 euros from town or 8-9 min walk to metro and 30 mins metro ride plus another 10 min walk to Guggenheim and sites of major interest. So not a very convenient option for a couple of night stay focused on Bilbao attractions.
