The Maldron Hotel is in an excellent location with an NCP car park directly opposite and the train station within walking distance. The hotel staff were very friendly and organised. The room was lovely and the hotel was very quiet at night, with no noise from the corridors or other rooms. The breakfast selection was great and the queue for the dining area was managed very well. The staff work very hard and nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return at some point.
The only slight problem was the door to our room which was extremely heavy to push open.

Rang the reception twice at 10pm and no one answered.
No fridge in the family room which is a shame especially with the hot weather, no where to keep drinks cold.
Arrived a little bit early and been told the room was not ready without even checking the system. Appreciate there is an additional fee to pay for early check-in, but in most hotels I have visited, reception staff usually check the system first.

Great position, room very clean, good breakfast and very friendly staff. They also upgraded my room for free so I got partial sea view which was such a nice surprise, I really appreciated it.

The location and the beds
Sewer smell in the bathroom, constant lorries in front of the hotel parked with their engines running. 2 times in the night they picked up the glass trash (at 4:30 am?!?!) with a lot of sound. Woke me up in the middle of the night. I didn’t go to the breakfast that I’ve paid for but when I came down the lady at the desk was very hostile when I entered the breakfast room to grab some quick breakfast before leaving. Good location. Expected more.
Great location. Breakfast was very good. Loved the small touches - bottled water and biscuits every day in the room. The tea/coffee etc was replenished daily without having to ask.
I know we went to breakfast later about 9.30, but I had to ask for small plates, desert spoons, butter and milk for tea. Someone needs to check these items more so people don’t have to ask and wait.

The staff were amazing it felt like home from home. The breakfast is delicious. The hotel was clean.
The outside area should have been able to smoke enjoy a cigarette and a drink instead of outside the front of the hotel. Please consider smokers.
