Very poor value
Cons:

I feel the room was very poor value. It was £210, but the room was tiny. I suspect that the advertised size disguises the fact that a portion is sectioned off to create a very small shower room. There is no room for even a single chair or any surface on which you can put anything. The towels are left on the bed because there is nowhere else to leave them. I’m not sure that if you used the hairdryer that you could be anywhere near a mirror (none in the room itself) and nowhere to sit while you dry your hair. There is a fair amount of external noise at the rear of the hotel because of the folk drinking and sleeping there. The worse thing was the carpet. I don’t think it’s unfair to say it was extremely and unpleasantly grubby.

Everything was great for our one night stay, a shame our room was so small for what we paid
Pros:

The location was good for us getting to the castle. The staff we met were very friendly. The interior decor was lovely, very comfortable bed.

Cons:

Our room was tiny so felt we paid a lot for it.

Great vintage rooms right in the heart of the city.
Pros:

Excellent location.
Comfortable and well distributed room with nice decor. Perfect for couples who like a well deserved rest after a long walk around the city.

Cons:

Rooms are small and somewhat packed.
There is no staff to reach out to, everything must be done through the website or WhatsApp.

Shame the room was quite so small and dark!
Pros:

Good central location and surprisingly quiet. Helpful staff (online only). Comfortable bed and bedding

Cons:

Room was very small and cramped. In basement with light from pavement above. I know Edinburgh is expensive but this seemed a lot of money. I expect the larger rooms upstairs would have been great. But they were expensive relative to other boutique accommodation on the market
