Bracken Hide Hotel

We visited The Bracken Hide Hotel with my daughter & husband visit from Australia. We were also celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It was supposed to be a real treat….
The rooms were in a poor state of repair. Broken chair and door. This was reported immediately but nothing happened.
The cleaning service was poor, our rooms were not service properly. No clean towels, no replenishment of tea etc.
One particular receptionist was so bad…. Didn’t acknowledge me at all when checking out. He took the key and didn’t say a word.
I feel this is totally unacceptable, especially when you’re paying £400 per night per room….

Ο άντρας μου είχε πρόβλημα με το γόνατο του και δεδομένου ότι πρέπει να ανέβεις αρκετά μέτρα για να φτάσεις στο δωμάτιο ,του αρνήθηκαν μεταφορά με το αμαξίδιο του ξενοδοχείου .Αυτο είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα να επιδεινωθεί η κατάσταση με το πόδι του και να μας χαλάσει τις διακοπές μας .Εαν κάποιος έχει οποιοδήποτε κινητικό πρόβλημα πρέπει να γνωρίζει ότι το ξενοδοχείο δεν είναι φιλικό

La struttura è un albergo diffuso e la nostra stanza era un po lontana dalla parte centrale ma comunque ci hanno aiutato a trasportare i bagagli

הבקתות ממוקמות על צלע הר, וההגעה בעליה רק ברגל (קיים טוקטוק שלוקח רק את המזוודות) אנחנו קיבלנו את בקתה מס 1 שהיא הכי גבוהה. אני בת 62 ויחסית בכושר עליתי ברגל (מתחת לכיפת השמיים ברגל וגם ירד גשם) וכשהגענו התברר שאין מים בברזים , ניסנו להתקשר לקבלה אך ללא מענה ונאלצנו לרדת עד לקבלה ושם נאמר שאין מים כבר מזה זמן ולא יודעים מתי תחודש אספקת המים. יש לציין שיחסית עלות החדר ליום יחסית גבוהה (שכרנו ל 2 לילות) . ללא שום פיצויי מצד ההנהלה נאלצנו לבטל את ההזמנה ולחפש מלון אחר, יש לציין שקיבלתי החזר כספי מלא.

os chales ficam fora do predio principal e o acesso é dificil para hospedes com dificuldades para caminhar ou crianças, pois são subidas ; o hotel dispoe de carrinhos para levar as malas mas deveria disponibiliza-los tambem para os hospedes , isso não foi oferecido e os funcionarios que conduzem esses carrinhos várias vezes viram hospedes subindo as estradas de acesso aos chalés a pé e não ofereceram condução. Além disso, não há chinelos para os hospedes, o que seria de muito bom grado, ja que se trata de local frio e não há tapetes nos chalés. Por fim, destaco que minha familia ocupou 2 chalés por 3 dias e um dos chalés não foi limpo nem uma vez e a limpeza do outro chalé não incluiu retirada de lixo

Nothing, all good. A little pricey. But, definitely the nicest place in town, in this price point. This would be #2. The nicest place in town was more than double the money.

A lot. For starter - when checking in - I was the third person in line for the service. The check in counter was tiny and they were giving directions to the first group which could have been done elsewhere and not making everyone else wait. Then the cabins are quite far to walk and all uphill - there was no offer for us to take the buggy/golf cart and take us to the cabin. For elder or someone with double knee replacement surgeries like me - it was quite difficult to walk. The staff was not unfriendly but far from being friendly either. The wifi signal was horrible, keeps cutting in and out and was very slow. The staff who drive the carts around the path - drive way too fast. The cabin itself was tiny and when we arrived, there were bird poops in front of the entrance. There is no phone in the cabin so you have to all the hotel main number to talk with anyone, super inconvenience. I could go on and on for more. Definitely not worth the price and do not recommend.

Hotel with 2-star standard with the price of a 5 star hotel. Very small rooms and our room did not have hot water in the shower. Staff was unprepared to solve issues and took a long time to move us to another cabin (which still had issues with the shower). They made another cabin available very late and we had to move the luggages ourselves.

The cabin had a musty/mildew smell in there. Was a bit much. Not sure if there is a way to fix it but I did see a few other reviews saying the same thing. For the price it was a bit disappointing and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner.
