Only 5 star in Liverpool , will drop to 4 star next time would have to be better that that
Pros:

Very nice hotel

Cons:

Room is very small couldn't swing a cat in the room , bathroom tiny no room to put toiletries, toilet bag nearly fell into the loo off tiny shelf . A particular bar tender very rude , bad attitude slamming drinks on the counter. Went for a swim , 50.00 pound charge had a swim I was gone 15 minutes later .

Short break
Pros:

The staff at reception were so welcoming and friendly. We stayed for 3 nights and had afternoon tea which was a wonderful experience from the food to the fabulous tea room to the wonderful staff. The bedrooms were well equipped with super comfy beds and pillows. The bar area is beautiful. The hotel itself is very central within easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants and nightlife. I would highly recommend 👌

Cons:

Drinks at the bar were very expensive and table service was quite slow. Drinks were double the price of nearby bars. Also breakfast was very expensive at £30 per person. We did not avail of breakfast for this reason.

Pros:

Building was lovely.

Cons:

Wasn't clear that the pool was not included in the price.
24 hour room service was not available - even the items highlighted on the menu as being available after 10 were not.
Asked for oat milk - got dairy milk.

Comfortable bed and good location
Pros:

Location and building

Cons:

This is not a 5 star accommodation. Is more like a 3 star. The room they gave us was so small, like the box room in my house. It had a double bed that took over the whole room. I had to pay extra at the reception to change the room. The internet was very slow. Not acceptable for 5 star accommodation . The hotel is charging £50 per person to use the swimming pool and sauna for 2hrs. I’ve never seen that before. I thought I am staying in 5star accommodation. David Lloyd’s is charging £25 for the whole day guest pass.
The hotel is not worth 5 stars. The minibar was empty. Only 2 water cans were in there.

Stunning building, impeccably converted. Spa should be included in a 5* property.
Pros:

Stunning building in a great location and a spacious room. Mark (doorman), Maria (front desk) and the person who served me at the bar were brilliant.

Cons:

No local recommendations offered.
The A/C didn't work leaving the room far too hot. Calls went unanswered. Visits didn't happen. The offered fan never turned up.
Bar service of restaurant food by a 'fine dining' waiter left a lot to be desired.
Frustratingly restricted spa access: fixed 2 hour slots for an additional £50pp, 6pm last entry is too early, inability to check for spaces at reception.
Cheaper closer secure parking is available (Q-park £10 5pm to 10am) than NCP recommended.
