Thistle London Park Lane

There's an electricity issue. We asked the staff about it and they said it's an infrastructural issue. When you turn off the lights from the main switch, you can't turn on the wc lights. It's a hard situation at nights and when you're a couple. You have to turn on all the lights on to use the bathroom :((.

Unfortunately, I did not find the hotel very welcoming. The staff could have been more polite, attentive, and helpful, especially when it came to assisting guests with their luggage.

The bathroom was also a concern. The bathtub was extremely slippery and felt unsafe. I had to contact the hotel and specifically request a non-slip bath mat before I felt comfortable using it.

There was also an unpleasant smell in the corridors, and the reception and waiting area are quite small, which does not create a particularly comfortable or welcoming first impression.

Overall, considering the hotel and the service, I expected a better experience.

Rooms are not very clean i found dirty towels from the people before

Breakfast was in the neighbouring hotel across a road. Shower gel was empty after a first use, not replenished, toilet rolls also not replenished. Would have been nice to have some body & hand lotion.

Didn’t like the fact that when we went down for breakfast our room was not on the list and staff were asking us if we paid for breakfast!

We were kept waiting for the room well past the time it should have BP been ready

Two stars, and honestly the location is the only reason I’m giving it that.

Immediately on entering our room, we noticed it smelled musty. The air conditioning was also incredibly weak, so the room was uncomfortably warm.

The worst part happened on our first night. At around 4am, the fire alarm inside our room suddenly went off and woke my husband and me from our sleep. I had a big business talk later that same day, so being woken up at 4am was the last thing I needed. It also took a while for someone to actually come and attend to us.

When someone eventually arrived, we were told to open the window because the room was too hot. I found this ridiculous considering the room was hot because the air conditioning barely worked in the first place. Their solution to the problem was essentially for us to sleep with the window open.

So for our entire three-night stay, we had to sleep with the window open and deal with all the outside noise just to keep the room at a reasonable temperature.

Housekeeping was also extremely poor. Nobody came to clean our room during our stay. We left a bag of food rubbish outside our door and it remained sitting there for TWO DAYS, which says everything.

Overall, a terrible experience. The location is genuinely the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. I would not stay here again.
