Near Constable Country and an excellent place to stay
Pros:

The breakfast was very good and taken at a different location from the hotel which is how this hotel works.
We drove ourselves down to the venue. We could have had a driver provided by the hotel but we wanted to
get on the road as soon as possible.

There was a spa at this hotel and we were sorry we didn't have the time to use these facilities to the full.
The swimming pool was great.

Very comfortable room, delightful and helpful staff, peaceful rural location

Cons:

There is no dining room on site and while there is a plan to deal with this - charmingly carried out by the staff - we’d like to be able to walk into a restaurant. We were transported in a comfortable car five minutes down the road. Breakfast was delivered from the same restaurant, ordered the night before

Put getting money from you above all else
Cons:

Mostly a great experience. Stayed on a Sunday, had a fab lunch at the restaurant by the river. However, on checkout at 10.30am I was told I would have to pay extra if I wanted to have a swim up to midday.

Shame. Won’t be going back.

Cannot tolerate owners who put money above treating their guests with decency and who are money grabbing weasels and don’t have any reasonableness within them. Can’t blame the staff, who were lovely and who I presume are told to implement this policy.

To put it in context, this was our third of three nights away. The prior two didn’t care what time we stayed to or left. As they are decent human beings.

A little oasis. Can’t wait to return.
Pros:

Absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful room, beautiful bathroom, beautiful outdoor pool. We had breakfast at the property which was really lovely. Staff were all lovely.

Cons:

We were offered balloons for my wife’s 60th birthday but they got forgotten until reminded and offered a turn down service but it didn’t happen. These were minor points though and we loved our stay and will definitely be back.
