Categories

Cleanliness
6.8
Several guests reported serious cleanliness problems: reports of bedbugs, dirty baths, shards of broken glass left on the bathroom floor and general lack of proper cleaning on arrival.
Service
10
Staff were frequently described as helpful with easy check-in and clear door codes; there are a few reports of frosty reception and slow refunds but overall staff assistance and check-in convenience were praised.
Location
10
Consistently praised as central and convenient (Lime Street / Mathew St area), close to shops, bars and transport, yet reported to be relatively quiet at night.
Room Quality
10
Rooms noted as spacious, characterful and in some cases very comfortable (hydromassage lofts mentioned); some issues reported with very dark rooms, wardrobe layout and bathtub placement but overall room space and character were repeatedly commended.
Amenities
10
Onsite amenities include luggage storage and an attached 24-hour shop; however there is no on-site dining or regular room service which some guests highlighted—overall the property relies on local amenities and conveniences.
Value for Money
10
Mixed signals in reviews: several guests reported unexpected deposits/charges and long refund waits, yet many felt the central location, spacious rooms and character offered strong value for their stay.
Food and Beverage
10
No on-site dining or breakfast offerings were repeatedly noted; guests made use of nearby eateries and an attached 24-hour shop—this property functions more like a self-catered/apartment-style stay.
Overall Experience
10
Overall impressions skew positive for many guests due to location, space and character; serious negatives (cleanliness, unexpected charges, noise in some cases) did affect some stays but many guests still reported a very good experience.

The hotel is in a great location right in the centre of everything. Great for friends having a night out. Friendly, helpf
Pros:

The staff were friendly and helpful. And the security deposit was paid back into my bank promptly with no issues. Great location right near everything. Literally on the doorstep.

Cons:

Rooms are slightly warm in the summertime, however a fan is provided. Shouldn’t be a problem in colder months.

Pros:

Hotel and staff were excellent room was lovely and staff very polite

Cons:

We stayed in room 9 and there was a 'family' in room 10 that sounded like a group of kids that shouted and screamed non stop till 6.30am so getting sleep was almost non existent.

Pros:

Quirky, very local to sights, bars etc

Cons:

Very very dark inside the room, couldn't see inside the wardrobe even with the lights on I had to put my torch light on my phone and wardrobe not situated very good, not enough room to open wardrobe doors fully. Door to room was very loose and could not be locked from inside, and as a solo traveller, this made me feel uneasy. Very stuffy and hot in room as no windows can be opened and stand up fan wasn't adequate enough.

Stylish hotel, abundant space and character. Excellent location.
Pros:

Location is great, right in the centre of Liverpool with all the shops and the amenities it has to offer, yet very quiet at night and a stone throw from Lime Street Station.
Exceptionally spacious room, comfy beds and lots of character. The staff was very helpful, easy check-in and out. No faffing with keys, but an easy code for the door. Overall a great experience.

Cons:

The inability to open the window (but I understand that's in the nature of the building) and the position of the bathtub, not the easiest to get out of especially for kids and the elderly. Having said that, it didn't prevent us from enjoying our stay. Thanks a lot.

Pros:

Central location. Decent sized room with everything you need.

Cons:

Downside was when we booked through booking.com,we paid the full amount up front and no.mwntion of additional charges at all. Arrived at the apartment and the girl at the reception told us there was a charge of £50 per person which would be refunded if no damage was caused to the room. Took 3 weeks to get the money back after we checked out.

Pros:

Amazing location, literally in the centre of the amazing Mathew st

Cons:

I had booked an apartment with a kitchen.. arrived to be questioned why I booked an apartment for 15 people? I hadn’t realised..
But then half the apartment locked which I would understand if partially refund offered? House maid exceptionally polite and pleasant and we would visit again

Would not stay again, highly dangerous to have glass on bathroom floor.
Cons:

stepped on broken glass in the bathroom on the fist morning of our stay, advised reception at 11am that the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned properly before we arrived and that there were shards of glass on the bathroom floor, came back at 7pm that evening and the glass was still on the bathroom floor, advised reception again! Came back at 11pm to the room again and yet again glass still on the floor.
