Overall, a comfortable stay, a big space and very comfortable bed.
Pros:

The bed was very nice and comfortable, perfect pillows. Location was great as all the tours stopped there.

Cons:

The hotel didn’t communicate a special request for decaf coffee to reception and the kitchen, even though I detailed this (and the reason it was important) in some sort of “pre check in” form that they emailed me. Though the staff did try to make up for it, it left me disappointed and frustrated. Communication about the hotel’s limitations before my arrival would have gone a long way in managing my expectations.
The pictures on the booking site and reality didn’t always match up, which lead to me being disappointed in the location and surroundings. The area is very busy and noisy, has a local market and lots of local businesses around. Reflecting this authentically would have been helpful.

Nothing except the Muslim prayer pray every 3 or 4 hours thru the speaker especially in the middle of the night, can be loud but short.

Great for location, don’t have high expectations for anything else.
Pros:

The room (premier queen)was the size of a shoe box. 2 adults with 2 bags could not move around in the room. The bathroom is soooo tiny if you were a larger person you would struggle. The buffet breakfast was average- the egg were the same all week - one option sunny side up and one was an omelette, the Asian section rotated but it was ok. There was flooding in the room when it rained- they just put a pool towel near the window sill. The best part was the laundromat.

A comfortable and enjoyable stay in a fantastic location, with excellent facilities and everything you need within easy

The location was perfect, with easy access to Gaya Street, the night markets and local fruit markets. The area also felt much safer than other parts of KK, which made exploring on foot really convenient.

The facilities were fantastic, including the gym, swimming pool and laundry room. Everything was well maintained, with clear instructions that made the facilities easy to use.

OK . We had water facing room- good views. Room size a little on the small side but had a kitchenette. Windows not double glazed so you can hear street noise and the call to prayer from the Mosque over the road . Good central location though . Easy to walk around KK and supermarket in mall on next block . Had a awesome massage from lovely lady from Spa located in Lobby . Did'nt see the sign in elevator regarding being a eco hotel - so rooms not made up everyday unless requested - could be more generous with the loo paper in this case ! Pool area and reception staff nice.

Citadines waterfront was our oasis in Kota Kinabalu.
Pros:

Citadines was a very nice surprise for us with very specious and well equipped room and the sunset view amazing.

Very well located just across the handicraft market and a few steps from the waterfront gave us the choice of a nice walk to buy souvenirs and enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the cafes at the waterfront.

Breakfast offers a large variety of local and international and staff is very helpful and kind.

Cons:

Everything was good, except the toilet smelled of urine and the floor tiles were sticky. I tried cleaning and wiping it myself, and the smell was gone after that. Hotel cleaners really ought to rinse the toilet floor after guests check out.
