Overall a pleasant one nighter.
Pros:

Location is excellent. Barefoot is only 100 meters away and MC 300 meters the other way.

Cons:

Toilet directly off the room was madness. Along with a glass door and the wash basin actually in the living room and not the bathroom.

Pros:

Atmosphäre super. Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sehr kinderfreundlich. Leckere Begrüßungsgetränke zum Pool gebracht bekommen. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Cons:

Kleinigkeiten. Unter dem Einzelbett war es schmutzig, als wir die Betten zusammengeschoben haben. Sonst sehr sauber. Im Restaurant hat es etwas länger gedauert bis das Essen gab. Meckern auf hohem Niveau ;)

Pros:

Taprobane House Luxury Boutique Hotel served us well during our two-night stay in Colombo.

The standout feature of our stay was the exceptional service from the staff, particularly Swene. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he always greeted us with a smile. He seemed to work incredibly long hours and was consistently available whenever assistance was needed.

When we experienced an issue with the shower not draining and the hot water not working, Swene responded promptly and quickly resolved the problem. Unfortunately, the lift was out of service during our stay, and without his help carrying our luggage up and down the stairs, it would have been very difficult for me.

The hotel is located in District 3, which we found to be an excellent base for exploring Colombo. There are plenty of fantastic dining options within easy walking distance, which was a real bonus.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side during our stay, so we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the rooftop pool. However, it looked spectacular and appeared to offer wonderful views across the surrounding area. We'd love to experience it on a future visit.

Breakfast was adequate, although it didn't quite measure up to the otherwise high standard of service we experienced throughout our stay.

Overall, Taprobane House is a comfortable and well-located boutique hotel, made memorable by the warmth, professionalism and dedication of its staff, especially Swene.

Great spot for a couple of nights

When in Colombo, Taprobane is the place to go!!!!!
Pros:

I've been amazed with my stay and the overall experience at Taprobane, Derek at the evening reception was extremely helpful in getting us with a smooth check-in and made us very comfortable throughout with our smallest of the needs. Thiran had been an amazing host at the reception in the morning and while serving us the sumptuous and authentic Sri Lankan breakfast, always willing to answer any of our queries and suggest more. I'm extremely happy with my stay at this property and would highly recommend anyone to go for it, worth all your time and money and a must stay for sure!!

Liebloser Pool auf der Dachterrasse (vielleicht nebensaisonbedingt), das Wasser aus der Dusche war nahezu kalt und wurde nicht warm.

Tolles Hotel vor unserem Abflug
Pros:

- Super netter Service, wir konnten nach Check-Out den ganzen Tag noch den Pool nutzen und dort auch duschen vor unserem Abflug
- Gute Lage in einer Seitenstraße von einem netten Viertel, toller Sonnenuntergang am Meer die Straße runter
- Großes Zimmer mit schönem Badezimmer und gemütlichem Bett

It was great.
Pros:

Neat and clean, the staff was very helpful and comforting.

Cons:

The property did not have backup generators. During our checkin there was no power so we had to roam around the city till the power came back on for us to comfortably use our rooms.

Pros:

The rooms were spacious. The pool had a nice view.

Cons:

There was no breakfast spread. With the price they are charging breakfast, I expected a spread, all I got was two toast and one omlette. I believe I am a little disappointed because for that price there were multiple hotels which were located even better, had better pool, better breakfast etc. I chose this hotel because of the reviews but the landline was not working, the wifi was not working. Limited breakfast.

Beautiful stay
Pros:

The room was extremely spacious, clean and very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely book this place again if we visit! The host was also very kind, helpful and prompt. We had a nice dinner also in the little outdoor restaurant space on the ground floor.
