A great Solheim Cup base

Schandalig: ondanks gegarandeerde reservering werd ik midden in de nacht zonder kamer achtergelaten.
Cons:

Zeer teleurstellende ervaring – bevestigde reservering niet nagekomen

In de nacht van 13 op 14 september 2026 had ik een zeer slechte ervaring met IntercityHotel Breda.

Op 13 september rond 23:30 uur reserveerde ik via Booking.com een kamer. De reservering werd bevestigd en met mijn creditcard gegarandeerd. Ik meldde het hotel direct dat ik vanwege mijn late aankomst rond 02:00 uur zou arriveren.

Bij aankomst rond 02:00 uur kreeg ik te horen dat er geen schone kamer voor mij beschikbaar was. Er waren wel vrije kamers, maar die waren niet schoongemaakt. Tegelijkertijd bleek er wél één schone kamer beschikbaar te zijn, maar die werd voor een andere gast vrijgehouden die op dat moment nog niet was gearriveerd.

Ondanks mijn bevestigde en gegarandeerde reservering en mijn vooraf gemelde late aankomst werd er geen oplossing aangeboden. Er werd geen alternatief hotel gezocht en er was nauwelijks begrip voor het feit dat ik midden in de nacht zonder accommodatie kwam te staan.

Vervolgens kreeg ik verschillende verklaringen waarom ik geen aanspraak op mijn kamer zou hebben: eerst zou ik na middernacht hebben geboekt, daarna zou ik nog niet hebben betaald en uiteindelijk zou de andere gast meer recht op de kamer hebben vanwege een betaalde 'deposit'. Geen van deze verklaringen vond ik overtuigend.

Een bevestigde reservering hoort naar mijn mening daadwerkelijk te worden nagekomen. Als dat niet mogelijk is, verwacht ik dat een hotel actief naar een passende oplossing zoekt. Dat is hier helaas niet gebeurd.

Een bijzonder teleurstellende ervaring en absoluut niet de service die ik van IntercityHotel Breda verwacht.
