The Surf Club

We requested an early check in at the time we booked this room, around a month and a half ago. Until the day before we were told no. Checkin is at 4pm, we got there early in the day to make the most of the trip. As we waited for our room code in the courtyard, 2 of their umbrellas blew away almost hurting a person walking by and crashing into a car. I know early checkin is a request but we were willing to pay, we didn’t want to only have to be here for 19 hours(checkin being 4pm and checkout 11am the next day) My husband was able to save both, when we tried to contact someone to ask where we could put them or if they were up, no response. We thought that the hotel was no kids, but thought maybe it was just our room? The room was lovely and clean. It was all things leading to get into the room and surrounding rooms that gave us a poor experience. Our neighbors had 3-4 little ones with them who woke us up crying around 6:30 am and then were running outside our room, being loud at 8am. As I understand the kids just wanted to be outside and ready to wakeup, it was just a place we thought was adults only as that is what’s said in our booking policy. The family was beyond kind, just loud, the walls are paper thin. The room was nice and close to the boardwalk, but there’s only street parking, which you pay for and adds up quickly. The free spots a few streets over can be scary parking and walking alone at night. So as we will not be returning, we recommend putting a lot of thought into staying here before elsewhere.

Location and very clean property

No parking, bed sounded like it was ready to fall apart with every move, heard everything next door and above us and last but not least we had a family emergency and you would not let us change our stay dates!!!!

Bed was a too soft and creaky for my liking.

NO PARKING. Was very stressful worrying about where to park. Usually far away.
The room needed some pictures…..color. It felt very cold.
I was promised/told one thing 3 days before my arrival and when I got there the man was very reluctant to keep that promise. He made me feel very uncomfortable.

It was difficult to find parking due to the surrounding area having only metered parking or lots without overnight parking.

A sitting chair would have been nice

The TV (internet) did not work. NO TV.

The wifi router was out and despite many texts and calls to their "help" number, no one responded. I even sent pics confirming no wifi, asking for someone to address issue. That meant I was unable to work from or watch television in my room. Instead of a lazy morning on the beach, I had to check out early to find wifi elsewhere to catch up on work. Disappointing customer service, for sure, as no one EVER responded, even after to apologize for inconvenience.
