Liked the fact it was quiet and slow paced

Food was very delicious, staff friendly and attentive. Good amount of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel wasn’t too busy, which was great for our family. We felt very safe. On top of that it was great value for money!

The breakfasts were delicious, although I would have loved to have seen more Swahili foods offered for breakfast. The hibiscus juice and baobab juices were especially extraordinary, and the passion fruit juice. The fresh fruits at breakfast were extraordinary. My room was extremely comfortable. All of the staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming. I felt really sad at having to leave behind so many Tanzanians' smiling warm faces when it was time to leave. (I want to say a special thank you to the front office staff Alex and his brother, whose name I think was Sajaad, or Sajid. They were both wonderful, and arranged a day's tour of Stone Town for me.) Amanda (I think that was her name?), the Romanian woman who was a manager and perhaps one of the owners (?) was also very personable and welcoming. And of course it was brilliant to walk way out into the Indian Ocean in the morning, during powerfully receded tide, to see and hear the local women harvesting their seaweed/kelp "crops" and singing. The beach was just beautiful, but when I went walking on it mid-morning, I used an umbrella to ward off the powerful sunshine. In short, I think that I'd stay here again if I revisited this area of Zanzibar.

L’hôtel est propre, décoré avec goût et bien équipé avec de nombreux jeux (fléchettes, tennis de table, volley-ball, etc.). La chambre était très propre et très confortable et le personnel sympathique.

Aamiainen oli hyvä, oli mahdollista tilata menusta. Huoneet sijaitsivat ihanan lähellä valkoista hiekkarantaa, jossa pystyi näkemään erikoisia mereneläviä. Majoituspaikka oli sopivan kokoinen, ei liian iso.

Nous avons adoré cet hôtel au bord d’une splendide plage du lagon, avec son beau jardin, ses chambres très agréables, et un personnel aux petits soins. Lieu idéal pour se reposer dans un tout petit village très calme.
Merci également à Angi, une manager particulièrement attentive et chaleureuse.

El mambo ocean lo tiene todo , una ubicación excepcional frente a una preciosa y espectacular playa , unas instalaciones adaptadas al entorno natural de árboles, y vegetación y un servicio de restaurante y comida de primera calidad .
Ofrecen servicio a la carta , todo buenísimo y a un precio razonable para la zona con platos ricos y abundantes .
Tiene varias piscinas muy bien cuidadas y en general todo está muy limpio .

Ver la subida y bajada de las Mareas en la playa es impresionante.
Además de todo esto lo mejor es su personal , he estado en muchos hoteles y creo que en ninguno me he sentido tan cómoda como en este gracias a su equipo de trabajadores .
Me he sentido en mi casa, esa es la sensación.
Solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento para todo el grupo que compone el Mambo porque han hecho que mi estancia sea inolvidable. Son todos muy simpáticos , cariñosos y agradables .
Me llevo un grato recuerdo de ellos .
En mi última noche terminamos bailando juntos música en español y música en suajili , y aunque no nos entendíamos bien no hacen falta palabras, el lenguaje del corazón es universal .

Right on the beach with all the facilities you could possibly need. Spacious rooms that are very comfortable. Amazing value for money. I always felt very well looked after.

Pwani Mchangani is very peaceful and quiet, so perfect for relaxation and getting away from all the action.

The food was incredible — some of the best I’ve had in Zanzibar. And I had the best massage ever down at the beach.

But my favourite thing about Mambo Ocean is the staff. The team are so friendly, and I will miss their smiley faces! What amazing people.

Good staff and nice ambience

Real gem of a spot on the Pwani Mchangani coastline:
- Location: 10/10 - right on the beachfront
- Beach: 9/10 -clean breaker line - minimal seaweed, some coral, great for swimming when the tide was in, great for walking the sandbank when the tide was out
-Food: 10/10 ala carte menu with a wide variety, served and presented well
- Staff: 9/10 very friendly and always willing to help
- Management: 10/10 -very engaging and willing listen to suggestions and flexible to requests
Rooms: good size, stylish deco, pvt balconies
-Facilities & Entertainment: 7/10 - 2 swimming pools, a volleyball court , darts and table tennis

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The price was very reasonable, and I arrived quite late; however, the staff were already informed and kindly waited for me since I was the last guest to check in that day.

The breakfast had limited options, but it was adequate for a short stay. The beach area was nice to look at with a beautiful view, although it was not suitable for swimming at the time due to maintenance work, which I was not informed about in advance.

I also tried the massage service by the beach, and the therapist was very kind and experienced, which I truly appreciated. The hotel also provides beach seating as well as food and drink service, which is convenient.

However, the room was quite small, including the bathroom, with limited space overall. The room design also had an open window mirror feature that affected privacy, as guests in nearby rooms could potentially see inside unless the curtains were fully closed at all times.

I only planned a short stay to check the place out and then moved to another hotel afterward. I did not get to experience much of the lunch service, so I cannot comment on that.

Overall, it is an okay option for a budget stay, but it may not be ideal for a long or fully relaxing holiday due to the limited space and facilities.

The staff is great and caring for all your needs during the stay. The garden is great, and the place is really quiet. The beach front restaurant is perfect and there is a small pool on the beach and a larger one in the back, for swimming.

Would definitely recommend if you want the quiet side of Zanzibar, and its not really remote : you can walk in the village for restaurant / groceries and find some activities like kitesurf on the beach !

Our stay at Mambo Ocean Resort was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming with us, and from the moment we arrived we felt very well taken care of.

We ate several times at the hotel restaurant and absolutely loved the food (everything was delicious and the prices were very reasonable). The breakfasts were spectacular, especially the traditional local breakfasts, which gave us the opportunity to try authentic regional food.

The beach is amazing, very beautiful and perfect for long relaxing walks. The swimming pool area is also very pleasant, with many comfortable places to sit and relax. The hotel also offers activities and games such as ping pong, darts, and volleyball, and we tried all of them and had so much fun.

Our room was beautifully decorated, very clean, and cozy. The mattress was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and the hot water worked perfectly. Overall, the quality standard of the hotel is excellent.
