Stunning hotel and lovely staff!
Pros:

Lovely stay and the staff and amazing!!

Cons:

It was very warm weather and the room was like an absolute sauna, but the staff sorted us out with another room which was much cooler. Nothing was a bother to them!!

Prachtig authentiek hotel met fantastische service. In de zomer wel erg heet.
Pros:

Het personeel is enorm vriendelijk en de service is uitmuntend. We verblijven zelden in hotels zo chique als deze en waren een beetje overweldigd door alles wat voor ons gedaan werd: de auto valet parkeren, direct een welkomstdrankje, personeel dat de koffers al voor je naar de kamer heeft gebracht terwijl je bijkomt van de reis.

Het hotel zelf is al een belevenis. Een enorm landhuis dat van binnen prachtig authentiek is ingericht. De hal is prachtig met houten balustrade, jachttrofeeën en grote ramen. Je waant je echt een landheer. Daarbij heb je uitzicht over een prachtig landgoed dat in gebruik is als golfbaan en perfect wordt bijgehouden.

De kamer was prachtig en enorm. Het bed lag geweldig. Ik heb in veel bedden last van mijn rug en kan ook nooit lang lekker zitten tegen bedkussens. Hier kon ik echter uren in wegdromen.

Cons:

Het was een periode warm weer geweest en dat was in de kamer goed te merken. Er was echter geen airco en er konden slechts 2 piepkleine raampjes open. Wij hadden die direct opengezet voordat we gingen dineren. Bij terugkomst, waren echter de zware gordijnen voor ons gesloten en was er nog weinig verkoeling. Het personeel had voor ons een ventilator neergezet en dit hielp om het enigszins comfortabeler te maken, desondanks was het voor ons een te warme nacht om goed te slapen.
We verwachten dat dit het grootste deel van het jaar geen probleem zal zijn in deze omgeving. Maar in de zomer is het wel echt een aandachtspuntje.

Stilvolles Ambiente mit kleinen Fehlern

Man hat sich nach Kräften bemüht, ein passendes Zimmer für uns zu finden. Essen sehr gut. Das Haus atmet Geschichte und ist sehr stylisch / passend renoviert und eingerichtet.

Cons:

Leider keine Klimaanlage wegen Denkmalschutzes, daher waren etliche Zimmer in den oberen Etagen überhitzt. Der dazugehörige Golfplatz ist - insbesondere was Greens und Tees betrifft- in verbesserungsfähigem Zustand. SPA im Umbau und daher geschlossen, dies wurde uns erst nach Ablauf der kostenlosen Stornierungspflicht mitgeteilt. Goodie war dafür kostenloses Golfen.

Fantastic property, staff, dining and location - only disappointment was the lack of Spa facilities
Pros:

The location and property were fabulous. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast and evening dining options were plentiful and of a very high quality. Great location for walks and relaxation.

Cons:

The primary purpose of our stay was for a period of relaxation and “pampering” for my wife following her recent cancer treatment - it was very disappointing on arrival to find that the Spa was undergoing refurbishment until at least September which wasn’t advised at the time of booking.

Has great potential and it just seems like it needs a bit more care
Pros:

Beautiful property and grounds.

Cons:

The current pool facilities are quite run down and there were enough chairs and beds for the number of people there.

Seems a bit run down in places.

One person serving in the bar Saturday night (where they also had a wedding function) and 3 people on Sunday in the bar when I only saw a handful of other guests.

Food was a bit hit and miss.
