Our room (suit) was a nice one
Didn’t have AC and the windows didn’t have insect screens and super noisy outside. Management said AC operate from June. Understand it but this level of inflexibility is not understandable that this May was the hottest ever in Europe and you still stick to your nonsense rule?!
Only with this nonsense rule the whole experience was ruined because we couldn’t sleep because of heat and noise and mosquitoes….. and i saw other guests complaining the same and management response was only sorry!!! No action
Très bel hôtel, bien situé au centre ville.
Tout est parfait, le petit déjeuner offre un grand choix
Le restaurant sur place est de grande qualité aussi.
Un rapport qualité/prix imbattable
A fantastic stay, all things considered! We had a superior room with two large beds together and a futon. Reasons?
-Unbelievable value for the spaciousness of the room and a standalone bath as well as a shower! Also fridge, bottle/s of water and coffee pod machine (but only espresso!)
-Comfy bed, really nice fresh sheets, very comfy pillows, could cast Netflix on the wall TV too.
-Spa was fab and suited me completely! For 15 euro (8 for child), we had access to a pool (even depth all the way), sauna and jaccuzzi for 1 hour. Children allowed during the last hour of the morning or later time. Very relaxing especially if you're a bit nervous in water!
-Robes and slippers provided in room, even for kids! Nice touch.
-Well appointed location, though quite an uphill walk for those with mobility changes.
-Excellent service! A small leak in bathroom was fixed very fast. Efficient storage and collecting of bags when we left. Check in smooth and fast check out. Small goodie bag on leaving.
-Plenty of communal space / seating with the hotel being a somewhat quirky old side and newer side.
Overall, quality 8/10, with the spa making it feel special. Bumped it up to 9/10 due to very good value, perhaps partly due to time of year.
Overall, I really liked this hotel! But here are a few points that would have made it overwhelmingly good!!
- Was pining for a kettle but I know that's very British! I like an evening cup of tea in bed always.
-It's a little sad that this hotel is far from its glory days - one can imagine how wonderful it once was! However, this is part of its charm and slight quirks! Not a real issue at all but something to note if you're someone bothered by these things.
-For a 4 star hotel, it's a shame the restaurant is definitely more on the "posh" restaurant side, and when we tried to get the non-buffet breakfast at 8am, the room was really cold as the staff opened all the doors and the place lacked a good atmosphere. So, we never ate at the hotel as the restaurants did not come across as family friendly. We went to local bakeries instead, a few mins' walk left from the square outside the hotel. Lots of places to eat at a short walk away.
-Lift broke on one day, the table football didn't work (lost our euro for a bit but managed to reclaim it!), and the air con in our room wasn't effective. We ended up keeping our windows open, and that did the trick!
