The location is honestly beautiful. Being surrounded by so much greenery and mountains made the whole stay feel so peaceful and relaxing. The food was amazing throughout our stay and we genuinely had nothing to complain about. We also really enjoyed the trekking experience, especially because Isuru, who took us trekking, was so knowledgeable and made the experience really interesting. The front office team, especially Shane and the others, were so friendly, welcoming and always ready to help with anything we needed.
Honestly, there really wasn’t anything we didn’t like. We had a wonderful stay and the whole experience was very well looked after.
Staff/hospitality was topnotch. Location was magical. They prepared a cake and surprised my buddy after dinner as this was a birthday trip. They also put a very pretty thoughtful birthday greeting on the bed.
The AC in our room was weak. Luckily the bungalow had a fan that we used to supplement ventilation in our room.
Really spectacular location nestled on an old tea plantation. Our room's terrace has a perfect view of the distant mountains, and it was a joy to watch the birds and wildlife. Don't listen to those complaining about it being far from Kandy - that's the whole point!
The staff were mostly nice and accommodating. The food was good but could be improved given the price (more below).
We had some problems with our room the first night, but management went out of their way to change our room for us the next morning (to an even better view).
Approaching the stay, the food options were very confusing and not transparent at all - the price for board via booking is much more expensive. We ended up going for board negotiated at arrival, which we were told was a separate menu but ended up being the same set menu previously offered as a daily price. We also weren't told in advance when we asked that a la carte was an option.
The food was good, but not great (maybe we have high standards) even irrespective of the price. Of the five course meal, one is a icey sorbet. The soups and entree were hit and miss, desserts too sweet and not authentic. The mains however were consistently good (even if fish was consistently overcooked)
Simpson’s Boutique is a truly beautiful hotel. We stayed as part of our honeymoon and it was a fantastic location - very peaceful with beautiful views. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and they have some great activities on offer. We loved the pool (even in the rain) and enjoyed a massage at their spa and an amazing moonlight nature walk with Isuru - we’d highly recommend to anyone. At times the kitchen could be a little slow but we weren’t in any rush. A special shout out to Shane and Hansi at the front desk who were amazing - they went out of their way to make us feel looked after.
Location and the view is amazing..
You really have to experience this hotel yourself—words aren't enough! It’s located on an incredibly beautiful property, fully immersed in nature. The infinity pool in particular is beyond words! The food is extremely good and the staff is unbelievably helpful. We joined the night moonlit tour with Isuru, who drove us around the estate in an Isuzu—it was such a unique experience. The rooms were spotless and very well-maintained. I have absolutely zero complaints. Don't think twice, just book this hotel and live this experience!
Nothing
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was perfect! The food selection was surreal! Everything about this resort is amazing! Great for families!

The stunning hill location, helpful, Welcoming staff and great food. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities and fabulous views of the hills and sunset. A lovely colonial ambience with modern facilities including infinity pool surrounded by lush greenery, birds and wildlife
Nothing
Very nice property in a tea and spice plantation in the hills. The view from the infinity pool is particularly impressive. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food at breakfast and dinner was also good.
During our stay there was a big family group (20+ people) that, at moments, took over some of the facilities and treated them as their own, without respecting other guests’ presence.
