Great place but could do with a boot room
Now where to dry kit
Room was clean and nice size.
Had a mini fridge in the room which is nice but contents in the fridge ( apart fr milk which was free ) was very expensive.
Clean, new, parking included, very helpful staff, room had a fridge, lovely shower and fan in room as it was hot when we stayed.
Food service was slow
Nice location
Small window wasn’t great in summer heat
Good food for dinner and breakfast. Fridge in the room.
Room was extremely hot. Needed air con, especially if you had dogs with you.
The staff was unhelpful. As a hiking hotel you would expect that they would be good at helping with a hikers need. We asked about a packed lunch and they said yes. We went to order it and they said it needed to be done by 7pm it was then 7:05pm and they refused to help. It was passed the cut off. No mention of cut off times anywhere in our room, elevator, reception. And nowhere near to buy food. There name and mission felt very hollow to the reality we experienced. Plus they were more expensive than alternatives. I'll not be using this company again.
Location was beautiful. Good rooms with comfy beds and fab bathroom with a good shower.
Could of done with the staff letting you know about little things at check in. The free coffee and cake that was available which we didn’t know about for one. Maybe just a ‘have you stayed with us before’and then a brief explanation of where things are and breakfast times etc. Was expensive considering you have to fetch everything yourself at breakfast even cook your own eggs. (Boiled) scrambled eggs and bacon available.
Great location
Nothing
Lovely hotel, great facilities, delicious food.
Having stayed here before I know how great the rooms are on the back but this time my room was on the main road! Extremely noisy through the night, this had a huge impact on sleep. Even with the windows closed it was really bad.
Also quite expensive.
Modern, well equipped rooms, although no air conditioning on the hot evening, there was a fan.
Shower was excellent, linen soft & fresh, very clean, staff friendly & helpful.
It was one of those few days where GB enjoyed a very hot day, the evening temperature was slightly uncomfortable. The fan helped & on any regular day this wouldn’t have been an issue.
Location to Peak Cavern music venue.
Bit pricey
Loved how welcoming and dog friendly the place was. I also loved the 4pm coffee and cake and the games room and cinema room.
The room on the second floor got a little warm and the table top fan was a welcome addition. Air con would have been better.
Everything about this hotel was excellent. Reason for slightly lower score is that the service in the restaurant in the evening was VERY slow and our grandson was really wilting when his pizza arrived, which turned out to be the wrong one so they had to replace it . . . didn't go down well. Many of the other families in the restaurant were also struggling to wait for their food. It would have helped if we had been told the time frame when we ordered.
Otherwise our stay was faultless - and our rooms were superb, beautifully appointed, excellent accessible facilities, inter-connecting door betweenour two rooms, spotlessly clean and wonderfully comfortable beds. The staff were polite friendly and helpful . . . and the scrambled egg at breakfast was the best we've ever had in a hotel !
Note: one side of the hotel faces the main road, and the other the car park and railway line. But it was quiet at the back and despite the large numbers of dogs, there was no noise or inconvenience to those of us not accompanied by 4-legged family. I had been concerned as our grandson is quite scared of dogs after a couple of bad experiences, but if anything this stay helped him to understand that properly-trained dogs are not to be feared.
We would certainly stay here again if in the area.
The slow service in the restaurant - see above.
