Disappointing - better guest care required and avoid upstairs rooms
Pros:

Main building and eating area / bar has charm, good and quiet location at the entry to the cotswolds, nice breakfast with good range of options

Cons:

We arrived just after 9:30pm (which we had communicated to the staff) and were met in the rain with a locked door with a note on it saying we had to go directly to our room, despite seeing staff inside cleaning up the bar. It is unacceptable to not greet guests at an hour like that when we turned up exactly as communicated. We had also requested via the website email address several days earlier a pre prepared meal when we arrived given we had just travelled from the other side of the world (Australia) but no one ever responded. We were allocated an upstairs room and found ourselves in wet dark conditions having to lug two suitcases up a slippery and not undercover staircase to get to our room which frankly was pretty dangerous.

Pros:

Great dinner and breakfast; lovely staff very helpful. Quiet location, and nice ambience.

Cons:

Shower access difficult for us oldies, as stepping over bath, without a grab handle can be tricky and slippery.

Would definitely visit the pub again and the breakfast was tasty and good value.
Pros:

The pub and the staff were absolutely great. the staff were friendly and very efficient. Theyn couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. Th breakfast was well presented and tasty especially the full english and also the vegetarian breakfast. The breakfast was good value. Would have been nice to have some Muesli (not in a packet) otherwise great.

Cons:

The accommodation was a bit shabby and dated. Carpets old and the bathrooom was quite small and could have benefitted from somewhere to put wash bags etc.

Traditional pub menu, exceptional ingredients, all cooked to perfection with brilliant service.
Pros:

Great selection of drinks. Dogs are welcome. Pub menu offering great food - how it should be done! The kitchen worked hard to cater for one of our party's food intolerances. Overall the service was brilliant - great team of staff!

Cons:

Rooms were spacious & very clean but perhaps a little dated for the price.
