EL RIO Y MAR RESORT

Our family recently stayed at El Rio Y Mar Resort in Coron, Palawan, and we can honestly say it was one of the most memorable vacations we’ve had.

The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The sunsets are breathtaking, and waking up to the sound of the waves with the cool morning breeze while enjoying coffee at the beachfront restaurant was simply priceless.

From the moment we arrived, every staff member made us feel at home. They always greeted us with a cheerful “Mabuhay!” every time we crossed paths, which made our stay even more special. Everyone was warm, approachable, attentive, and genuinely happy to help.

Our beachfront room was thoughtfully designed with a beautiful tropical theme. We loved the little touches, like the woven baskets that guests can use as beach bags, the mini abaca fan to keep cool, and the complimentary chilled drinks waiting for us in the refrigerator.

The resort has plenty of activities and amenities for everyone. There are separate pools for kids and adults, a diving pool, paddle boards, surfboards, a volleyball area, and an air-conditioned indoor game room. You can also enjoy snorkeling, trekking, hiking, and many other activities. If you’d like to explore Coron, they also offer well-organized tour packages.

The food deserves a special mention—it was outstanding! Every meal was delicious, and dinner was made even more enjoyable with live acoustic music. We were especially impressed when the musician sang a Japanese song after a Japanese guest requested it. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and before long, guests were singing and dancing together, creating such a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

A special thank you to Ms. Mikaela, who always greeted everyone with the biggest smile. She, along with the bartenders and the rest of the staff, made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. We’d also like to thank Ms. Janet, one of the resort’s partners/owners, for taking the time to chat with us.

The bed was the most comfortable bed we had on our whole trip.
The staff is outstanding, the facilities are great and the nature is wonderful.
Even we were in the middle of the super tyfoon we had an amazing time on the resort.

Beautiful isolated island resort. Perfect if you want to slow down and relax. Once you are on the island you are pretty much stuck there unless you organise a trip. But there is so much to do on the island. The snorkeling was amazing with lots of fish and reef, there’s stand up paddle boards to hire and a nice pool. Staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. It’s more expensive than you would expect for the Philippines, so be prepared to pay a little bit more. However, it’s still cheaper than what you would normally pay in Australia.

We would highly recommend still though. It was a great end to our honeymoon.

This is a gem of a resort, located within the Palawan Islands. It is the perfect resort to explore the area. The staff are wonderful & make everyone feel welcomed.
The rooms are roomy, comfortable beds, good water pressure & excellent air conditioning.
The staff in the dive shop are brilliant, special thanks to Christian & Eric. We could not have wished for better guides.
The welcome & good bye songs beautiful.

Toute l’équipe est incroyable, un service impeccable. Le lieu est magique et tranquille, un coin idéal pour se reposer après certains lieux touristiques plus « fatigants » des philippines. Il ne faut pas avoir peur de la distance avec la ville, tout est super sur place, il y a tellement à faire : randonnée, snorkeling, kayak et paddle tout inclus. Nous avons fait l’excursion d’une journée à coron et c’était vraiment merveilleux, l’équipe était fantastique là encore et d’autres excursions sont offertes. Nous sommes partis de la les yeux pleins d’eau. Nous sommes reconnaissants pour nos 4 jours là-bas!

Wir haben diese Unterkunft ausgewählt, da sie nahe dem Flughafen lag, doch wir haben nichts erwartet. Als wir aber angekommen sind, hat es uns den Boden unter den Füßen weggezogen. Das Personal hat einen Willkommenssong gesungen und uns begrüßt. Die Anlage ist wie aus einem Film, traumhaft schön und super romantisch. Es ist einer der besten Plätze, die wir je besuchten.
Auch die Küche und das Restaurant sind hervorragend. Es gibt alles und wir haben alles durchprobiert, vom Steak über traditionelle Küche bis Fisch und Bürger. Alles ist top. Das vorgelagerte Riff ist fantastisch zum Tauchen und der Hauseigene Dive Shop mit Tauchguide nur zu empfehlen. Der hauseigene Strand und der Pier mit Bar sind wie ein Märchen. Ich dachte, solche Orte gibt es nur im Film, doch es war Realität. Wir haben uns an dem Ort so wohl gefühlt, dass wir mit Tränen in den Augen abgereist sind. Danke auch an das Super Team, immer freundlich und super hilfsbereit. Auch die Touren, die Sie für uns organisiert haben, waren sehr zu empfehlen.

Hemos pasado unos días perfectos en El Río y Mar. Nos facilitaron un traslado gratuito desde el aeropuerto hasta el alojamiento, al que llegamos en un barquito y nos recibieron con una canción.
Tanto el personal como las instalaciones y la comida del restaurantes son exquisitos.
Nos hubiésemos quedado mucho más tiempo.

Efficiency of Airport Transfer with zero minute waiting. Staff are so warm and polite. House reefs are excellent. Committed to eco-tourism. There are so many things to do on the island, from hiking up to the hill to just chilling in the hammock listening to waves. We felt so pampered. Very safe place, even at night. The owner, Ms. Menchi, took time to check on us how our stay - well appreciated this. There's a diving centre withib the resort, which is very handy.
