Unsatisfied and stressed instead of a relaxing holiday
Pros:

Breakfast was ok

Cons:

The room was very very hot. Not suitable for summer hot days. We were going to die in there. Two fans were not enough.

A disappointing experience.
Pros:

There is a car park on site but it seems bizarre we have to pay £12 a night for land the hotel owns.

Cons:

A small sign pointed out the pool was closed. I chose this hotel for the pool. Such a significant feature especially on the hottest days of the year, not being available and not being informed in advance is poor customer service. Talking with other other guests, the pool hasn’t been available for weeks. We were told to go down the road to a sister pool. We got there at 9am and all beds and chairs were taken. When we raised it with the staff there was just a shrug. Pool towels we were given had stains. Did not notice until we opened them on the beach. The photos make the hotel look fresh and new but the detail is not good. The sink blocked. The phone in the room had no guide on how to call reception - tried 100, 101, 0. When you phone the hotel main line you get “out of office messages”. Wifi is a QR code to scan but you aren’t told on check in. Wifi signal poor.

Just so disappointing as it should have been the best stay.

Too stressful no parking
Pros:

The location is good. Still quite a walk to get down to the beach. The breakfast was good.

Cons:

The room was hot, broken shower holder, very wobbly broken bath taps, cracked sink. The public toilets all 3 was blocked with poo in the afternoon and still the same at 8:30am the next day. Not enough car parking to accommodate the hotel offen parking eles where. They call it a spa hotel very old no evening food kitchen closed, no pool had to go to sister hotel. We also asked multiple time for shampoo and body wash as none in room they gave us bars of soap to wash hair and said they would refill but never did throughout our stay.

No Swimming Pool! Out of use and has been for a long time as it look filthy!!!
Pros:

Great location and nice staff

Cons:

We booked this hotel as it had a pool.
The pool has been closed for quite awhile but it did not say this when booking. The manager advised it would be open for the bank holiday, it wasn’t!! Had to use a sister hotel down the road, The Cumberland, a much better sister hotel. But had to be there early to get a sun bed.
No fresh fruit at breakfast, not everyone likes a cooked breakfast. Yoghurt was cheap and very runny. Bedroom door would not close, had to use the keycard from the outside to lock the door, frame of door was cracked for constant slamming. Oh and £12.00 parking fee!! Didn’t pay as the pool was closed and was not pre warned. The photo of the busy pool is the Cumberland. The empty pool is the one an Ocean Hotel.

Never going back
Pros:

Nothing.

Cons:

I have to early check out as me and my husband were so disappointed.

While I had asked what hours the pool was open the night before we arrived, when we arrived they told us it had been closed since the day before, which I was never informed of when I asked about the opening hours. The photos of the room we were given had nothing to do with reality. I asked to be given a room with a bathtub and that wasn't the case either. Air conditioning? There wasn't one. They had a small electric kettle that was covered in dust in a cupboard. There wasn't even a fridge in the room to put some water in since it was hot. We left the room the same day and left. It was my husband and I'm so sorry we stepped foot in it. And we paid extra for the parking that was inside the hotel, £12 per day, on top of the price. The staff were polite and we didn't want to make a scene because it wasn't their fault.

Good location, day stuff nice, night staff that couldn’t care less
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Lack of respect from other guests regarding noise, reception/bar didn’t seem to care and allowed a Chinese family to eat and make as much noise they like at 2.30 in the morning on the balcony.
Drunk guests woke us at 6am laying around in the hallway calling out until I had to go out and tell him to shut the F up

Would not recommend
Cons:

Pool was out of order and had been for several days despite being advertised as open when we booked the day before.
Womens toilets were out of order near the bar and men's toilets were disgusting.
Room was average with over bath shower being incredibly low and not ideal for anyone above 5ft5 tall.
No air con and rooms incredibly hot with south facing and minimal ability to open windows.
Staff were generally not hugely helpful after our electronic room key failed it took over half an hour to regain access to the room despite going straight to reception we waited 20minures for a PC reset which still didn't resolve the issue, then they used a master digital key which still failed (also could have been used to start with rather than leaving us waiting 20minutes to that point), eventually the maintainance team cane to reset the lock and fit new batteries for the unit.
Overall would not recommend. Whole place was tired and dated and service was poor.
