Expérience catastrophique, absolument pas digne d’un hôtel 5 étoiles

Nous avions réservé une villa pour 4 personnes et avons été extrêmement déçus par notre séjour.

Dès l’arrivée, nous avons dû transporter nos bagages pendant près de 15 minutes sur des chemins en gravillons, puis monter un étage sans ascenseur, sans qu’aucune information sur l’accessibilité ne soit précisée lors de la réservation.

La suite est jolie en apparence, mais la réalité est tout autre. La « piscine privée » est en fait un minuscule bassin sale, à peine utilisable. Nous avons trouvé des fourmis, des cafards et des lézards, y compris dans notre lit. Plusieurs infiltrations d’eau étaient présentes, dont une dans la cuisine directement sur notre nourriture, et la climatisation a fui sur l’un des lits.

Les toilettes se sont bouchées dès le début car personne ne nous avait prévenus qu’il ne fallait pas y jeter le papier. Problème signalé à 7h du matin, intervention à 22h seulement : nous avons donc passé la journée avec des toilettes inutilisables et une odeur horrible.

Le ménage n’est pas compris pendant le séjour et le petit-déjeuner inclus est une plaisanterie : un café et trois toasts avec du beurre.

Les équipements sont beaux sur les photos mais très mal pensés, avec de nombreuses malfaçons. Même le robinet est tellement proche du lavabo que l’eau gicle partout. Quant au lit annoncé King Size, nous avons eu un lit d’environ 140 × 190 cm pour deux adultes.

En résumé : un hôtel joli en apparence, mais absolument pas à la hauteur d’un 5 étoiles. Notre expérience a été catastrophique.

Nous ne recommandons absolument pas cet établissement.

Het ontbijt is wat karig. Koffie en toast met boter en heel weinig jam. Als je cappuccino wilt moet je bijbetalen. We hadden een extern aanspreekpunt via de app en dat liep prima. Snel een reactie. De host bij de deur was niet echt vriendelijk.

À FUIR. Une expérience extrêmement décevante et surtout un écart totalement inacceptable entre ce qui est présenté lors de la réservation et la réalité.

Nous considérons que la présentation de l’établissement est trompeuse. Les photos et la description donnent une image d’un établissement haut de gamme avec une véritable piscine privative. En réalité, la « piscine » de notre logement était un minuscule bassin, extrêmement sale et totalement inutilisable. La piscine de l’hôtel était, quant à elle, hors service.

Le petit-déjeuner était également très loin du standing annoncé : une offre extrêmement basique et limitée se composant d’un café, une boisson infâme qu’ils appellent jus et une tranche de gâteau. Nous avons aussi rencontré des problèmes de ménage car ce dernier n’est pas compris et l’absence d’eau à disposition une petite bouteille de 20cl par personne pour le séjour.

Plus grave encore, certaines restrictions et informations essentielles concernant les prestations nous ont été communiquées seulement la veille du début du séjour, alors que notre réservation était déjà payée. Nous estimons qu’il s’agit d’une pratique commerciale particulièrement contestable, car ces informations auraient dû être clairement indiquées avant la réservation.

Une publicité qui ne reflète pas la réalité, des prestations très en dessous du niveau attendu et un rapport qualité-prix catastrophique. Nous déconseillons fortement cet établissement.

Do not stay in this hotel. They position themselves as a "jungle retreat" but that is not the atmosphere of the property.
The vibe of the hotel is very off: it is no welcoming or relaxing at all. The place feels desert and the staff is poorly trained in customer service and do not know how to feel the clients welcomed. The pool was always dirty, the included breakfast is basically plain bread, fruits and jams - for anything other than that you have to pay - and they only have free yoga classes on Saturday, so if you are not staying there in a Saturday you have to pay at least 700 pesos.
When you position yourself as a jungle retreat, you expect to feel welcomed into a community with good energy. However, that was not the case at all: we genuinely did not want to spend time at the hotel.

A particularly frustrating experience happened on our first day: our Wi-Fi was not working. It took them an entire day to fix it. They lied to us saying that there were not other rooms available (even though the hotel was clearly empty) and did not care about making the problem less frustrating. Since they communicate via WhatsApp and there is no intercom in the rooms, we had to stay in the restaurant to use their wifi to be able to respond.

We already knew that the location was bad, but we expected the hotel to be an enjoyable place that we would wanna to spend some of our time chilling there. Definetly not what happened.

Reinforcing: do not stay here. They do not care about customers and will not move a finger to make your stay pleasant. There are much better options with similar prices: Holistika, if you want to feel in a truly retreat, and Panamera hotel, the cutest beach-front boutique hotel with a rooftop bar and beachclub.

PS: the "private pool" is so small and cold that looks more like an ice bath.

Het hotel ligt wat verder van Tulum-centrum. Maar je kan fietsen huren, een taxi reserveren, met je eigen wagen gaan. Of gewoon wandelen is zeker te doen. Maar op zich heeft het hotel hier niets mee te maken.

The restaurant facilities were lack lustre, gym had 2 out of order treadmills, no yoga classes as advertised only 1 per week, no free shuttle as advertised it was $40 per way per person (don’t get get inDrive or didi). The prices of food and drink were crazy high and poor quality food and drinks. They provide washing machine but no laundry liquid. The towelling was pulling apart threads not 5 star. Pools were all dirty, couldn’t swim, the lounges dirty and disheveled always. On the checkout they accused us of taking a hair dryer and it took an hour to realise it was in the bathroom the whole time delaying our departure. They send auto messages asking how they can help daily but very poor assurance with transport, activities, recommendations.

La experiencia durante el check-in fue algo extraña y desorganizada. Al llegar no nos entregaron las pulseras de ingreso ni las toallas, y la explicación sobre el funcionamiento del hotel fue bastante incompleta. Incluso al ingresar a la habitación notamos que la cama no tenía sábanas. Durante la estadía, cada vez que solicitábamos algo adicional, el tiempo de espera para recibirlo era largo.

Nos gustaría destacar especialmente la atención de Tomás, de recepción, quien fue la única persona que nos brindó un trato realmente excelente y resolutivo. Su amabilidad y predisposición marcaron una gran diferencia en nuestra experiencia.

The other side: Siwa Tulum Unique (with the restaurant) has more noise with music at the restaurant and also an unpleasant odour like sewage as you walk in each day.
The included breakfast is a bit meagre: no eggs or hot option without paying extra. The extras options and dinner menu are well executed but expensive. The main problem though: fittings in our room were not properly checked. The washing machine was not plumbed in correctly and flooded the room and its electric supply was dubious: once switching it on made the lights in the room flicker on and off, sometimes the machine flashed up a warning code that the supply was fluctuating. I had informed them that we were staying there for a birthday present and although they wished us a happy birthday, there was no other gesture made.
