Only one of the 4 windows in our room would open and it was extremely warm weather. The one window we could open we had to make a wedge to ensure the sash window would stay open.
The room needed some maintenance on the windows.

Pros:

Very big apartment few things missing like sharp knives, cheese grater and no oven gloves. Had to use the one thin teatowel to get food out oven. Needs a bit of maintenance to tidy it up

Disappointing!

The location and surroundings are stunning.

Cons:

From the moment we arrived there was no information given at reception about breakfast or proper instructions about where our room was. We then went to the room that was an apartment that had not been cleaned properly. Chairs on tables and the floor was filthy. There was a cupboard in the basement bedroom that someone had weed in and stank of urine. No welcome book, no tea and coffee or milk and sugar provided. No cloth to clean dishes. The spa closed to children at 6pm and at 5.40pm the pool attendant refused entry to our children despite it being the hottest day of the year. I complained and a guest relations manager did help us offered alternative accommodation that was unfortunately not suitable and allowed us to use the pool. Breakfast was a disappointment over priced and was nothing more than a cheap greesy spoon cafe. The breakfast room was dirty and the plates were dirty. I have been told I will get a 50% refund I will wait and see if this appears on my card.

Group trip
Pros:

We stayed in the 3 bedroom flat which was much bigger and nicer than it looks in the pictures. The kitchen was fully equipped for any cooking needs. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The pool, sauna and steam room were lovely and we used them at least once a day. Amazing value as well. Staff were great and very helpful. The grounds were great for some exploring, we walked into town a couple of times as well. It's a short flat walk to town through some green fields.

Cons:

The cleaning could have been better. There were quite a lot of dead flies on the kitchen floor when we checked in and no one ever came to do any cleaning, collect the rubbish, etc. The dishwasher didn't work properly either.

Beautiful gardens and traditional decor. Communal areas clean and tidy. And staff generally helpful. Fan supplied.

Cons:

Poor maintenance and door keys failed twice in 24hrs.
Towel radiators on with no control with 30’c weather. Complimentary cold water would be a nice gesture on hot days. Bathroom taps loose, wc slow to fill up and silicone mould. “Deluxe suite” purchased and disappointing. Spa facilities disappointing and not up to cleaning standards. Garden furniture very worn and “scruffy”. 3 umbrellas to accomadate more than 10 tables. No Coffee, no fridge lack of general basics. Expected higher standards in premium room

Pros:

The room needed a refresh, the pool facility cleanliness was questionable, main hotel barman was not very knowledgeable, chef not up to scratch ie either was not aware of the hotel occupancy or is new and needs to get up to scratch with there ordering. Evening F&B manager and front of house manager were run off there feet but went out of there way. Evening meal … ordered ceasar salad … no Parmesan cheese (offered cheddar cheese) or pancetta (chef tried to give undercooked fatty bacon as an alternative). Had dirty towels in the bathroom and receptionist did not apologise, housekeeper brought badly folded replacements. Room did not have any windows that opened and was extremely hot, and lots of cobwebs visible on the exterior of the windows.

Cons:

Exterior buildings and gardens are impressive.

Lovely weekend treat
Pros:

The facilities were good, especially the spa. And convenient for what we needed during our stay.

There was no sign of where reception was and the names of rooms or where to go.. we spent half an hour roaming trying to find reception.
