Nothing was clean.
Breakfast was missing. Noisy.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. the building itself is beautiful, the location is very good and the interior design is nice and original. unfortunately the things i like come to an end here.
first, when I wanted to check in to our room at 15:00, the room was still not ready and there were two ladies cleaning the room, which behaved very strangely. they made me feel like I came early (which is not the case, as check-in is at 15:00) or if I was disturbing them at their private place or home, and yelled to me as "please get out !", covering some of their body parts. ok, I waited, and finally around 15:15 I was able to check in to the room. by the way this is alright,, these things happen, it is life. it was not a problem for me to wait 15 minutes. but what matters is how you handle the situation. the approach was not appropriate nor professional at all.
second, although I booked the room for 3 nights with breakfast, I was only able to have breakfast on the first morning (which was out of the hotel, in a nearby cafe, which was very good.). for the second day, I received a message saying that there will be no breakfast and for the third day, there was not even a message. they only informed us that there will be no breakfast on that day too. this is again not professional at all. If the hotel is going through changes or managerial difficulties, they should not have provided bookings with breakfasts for those days. I am told that the breakfast amounts will be refunded. still waiting for this by the way.
thirdly, the hotel's courtyard as well as the bar can be used for any events such as concerts, weddings, parties etc. some of these events are not informed to the guests beforehand, so you might wake up to a dj performing music or a bunch of people having a party in the garden which blocks you to get in or out properly. these all make you feel like you are actually not valued as a guest, but just a cow to be milked money from.
finally, as many guests have mentioned, the rooms should have a bit of renovation. especially the carpets, the walls, the windows and the beds.
Location great beautifull building
No one at the reception. Technoparty on first floor and no breakfast despite having paid for it. The building is something extraordinary but witout staff just an empty Shell
I liked that there was a bathtube and that there is an instructions video for accessing the hotel for it is not obvious
Bellissimo. A dispetto di altre recensioni devo dire che non lo ho trovato affatto rumoroso, anzi!! Cortesia e tempestività dello staff sono stati un plus e il bagno con il riscaldamento a pavimento la ciliegina sulla torta! Perfetto!!

Das Frühstück wurde leider nur extern bereitgestellt. Mal gab es ein tolles Buffet, dann a la carte, mal ab 8:30, dann ab 9:00, tags darauf wurde es kurzfristig abgesagt.

The Benjamin House is a fantastic grand mansion house in a fabulous location, and has a great vibe and beautiful, opulent common areas. It had a quirky ambiance and we joked that it felt haunted because the only other people we saw there were a bride and groom in wedding clothes--obviously ghosts--and a choir! Our room was a suite with a huge bedroom, huge bathroom, and huge dressing room area where a second bed was placed for our teen daughter. It was plenty or room. As for location, not having been to Riga before I wrongly supposed the old town to be the main focus of activity--actually a lot of the restaurants, etc, are in this area of town adjacent to the old town, where the hotel is located. So it's kind of a better place to stay than right in old town. There's a really nice terrace too, and it's across the street from a big park.
We were there mid-week in Mid-May and breakfast was off-site. It was very nearby, just around the corner, and very good. But I didn't see the WhatsApp message about it until we'd paid for two breakfasts at restaurants, assuming, by the deadness of the hotel (we saw no one around) that breakfast wasn't offered. That was my fault for missing the message, just be aware it's not a traditional hotel with full reception/someone on premises. I missed that when I booked.

Stanza comoda, grande e ben arredata. Posizione vicina al centro e alle stazioni di treni e bus.
Accoglienza molto impersonale. Il check in è tutto digitale e non ho mai visto nessuno del personale. Atmosfera un po' lugubre e con scarsissima illuminazione nell' ingresso dell' albergo. Colazione un po' scomoda, fuori dall' edificio.

* белоснежные полотенца и постельное бельё- спалось отлично,
* в номере 2in1- ванна и душевая кабина,
* панорамные окна- много света,
* самостоятельный, лёгкий заезд и выезд...
* сам дом оставляет неизгладимое впечатление.
* жалею(плохая погода), что не посидели в саду, там есть укромные места.
Выезд до 11:00.
After many visits in Riga I have finally found the best hotel for a short stay. Wonderful historic building in the centre, easy to find, easy to park your car, nice spacious room, clean bathroom with bathtub, all amenities, electric kettle, tea, coffee, frigo, nice big bed, working table, safe deposit - what else do you need when you come on business or for a short spell in the city? I was plesantly impressed.
Breakfast not in the house but that is no great deal when you have a kettle in the room.
