We expected a bit more for the price. The pool didn't look clean and had a strong smell. The towels almost always had some stains. The TVs in the room were old-school and wifi worked poorly in some parts of the room.
This hotel is close to the sea front and I had an ocean view which I appreciated. The room was spacious and comfortable with a pleasant balcony view. It is comfortable and quiet and the pool was not over busy.
There’s just the one restaurant, pool side restaurant which is quiet thought the menu is good. The reception is the main sitting area other than poolside.
I decided to treat my partner and me to a luxury stay on our last day in Madeira. Unfortunately, the experience ended on a very disappointing note.
At checkout, my partner handed in the room cards, and the receptionist asked him, 'How was your stay, sir?' while completely disregarding me - even though I was the one who had booked and paid for the stay. I found the assumption that the man in the couple must be the person in charge - very outdated.
I did not want to make the receptionist uncomfortable, so I simply walked away, but I wish I had stood up for myself at the time.
In this day and age, guests should be treated equally and with the same level of respect.

Also need to provide more drawers in the room. There was only one and this was not enough.
Das Hotel hat mir insgesamt sehr gut gefallen. Die Zimmer waren schön, die Atmosphäre angenehm und ich habe mich wohlgefühlt.
Auf jede Rechnung werden automatisch 10 % Trinkgeld aufgeschlagen. Meiner Meinung nach sollte Trinkgeld immer freiwillig sein und vom Gast selbst bestimmt werden. Ich gebe normalerweise gerne und großzügig Trinkgeld, wenn der Service gut ist. Ein verpflichtender Aufschlag nimmt dem Gast jedoch diese Entscheidung und hinterlässt bei mir einen negativen Eindruck.
