Pros:

HK Villas — Beautiful setting, but disappointing service and facilities

The rooms at HK Villas are beautiful, spacious and very clean, with spectacular views. Water was regularly topped up, which was appreciated, although we would have liked more coffee provided throughout our stay.

Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the food, service and some of the facilities.

For the first three mornings, breakfast was buffet style. There was very little that our children would eat and almost nothing suitable for Western tastes, and unfortunately everything was cold. Coffee was served in paper cups. On our final morning, breakfast was served to the table instead, and this was a much better experience — there was a wider choice, including pancakes and fruit for the children, as well as a choice of fruit juices.

Lunch and dinner were particularly disappointing. The menu was very limited, and on several occasions we were told only after ordering that the item we had chosen wasn't actually available. One day we waited almost two hours for our food. There were only two menus available for the entire restaurant, which made ordering quite difficult.

The property is advertised as offering Western food and having a bar, but during our stay there was no alcohol available at all, and initially even Sprite and cola weren't available. Sprite eventually arrived on our second day. There was also no latte or wider choice of coffee because the coffee machine was broken.

We also found the set-up around the pool *very* inconvenient. Everything had to be ordered through the restaurant *upstairs* , meaning that if you were at the pool with children, you had to leave them to go and order drinks, even though they were then brought back to the pool. *Coffee was even prepared and distributed from the poolside staff area, but the same process applied without exception*

The pool itself was lovely and clean. It was cold, but perfectly fine in the Lombok heat.

Cons:

The potential is definitely there — with better food availability, more attentive service, functioning facilities and some basic maintenance, this could be a fantastic place to stay.

It is also worth noting that we planned to stay for 5 days as my husband was trekking Rinjari so we wanted some time once he had returned we left after 4 days as soon as he was back as we were not enjoying our stay

Positiv hervorzuheben sind lediglich die Lage und der Ausblick. Allerdings bringt die Lage auch mit sich, dass die Gebetsrufe sehr laut zu hören sind, was insbesondere zu bestimmten Tageszeiten störend sein kann.

ACHTUNG – Touristenfalle!

Hier ist leider alles mehr Schein als Sein.

Unser Zimmer war bei der Ankunft überhaupt nicht sauber. Die Bettlaken waren schmutzig und das Badezimmer roch unangenehm. Die Decke war für die nächtlichen Temperaturen viel zu dünn, sodass wir die ganze Nacht gefroren haben. Die Klimaanlage bzw. Heizung funktionierte ebenfalls nicht. Auch das WLAN war sehr schwach und kaum nutzbar.

Am enttäuschendsten war jedoch der Service am Abend. Als wir Getränke bestellen wollten, war angeblich fast nichts verfügbar. Die Softdrinks waren aus, woraufhin uns Kaffee und Tee angeboten wurden. Wir wollten einen Cappuccino und einen Ingwertee bestellen – beides war laut Personal ebenfalls nicht verfügbar. Am Ende blieb uns nur Wasser. Am nächsten Morgen waren sowohl der Cappuccino als auch der Ingwertee plötzlich problemlos erhältlich. Das vermittelte den Eindruck, dass das Abendpersonal schlicht keine Lust hatte, die Getränke zuzubereiten.

Auch das Frühstück war eine Enttäuschung. Beim Check-in wurde uns ein Frühstücksbuffet angekündigt. Stattdessen gab es ausschließlich eine À-la-carte-Karte, bei der erneut zwei Gerichte nicht verfügbar waren.

Das Personal spricht kaum Englisch und wirkte insgesamt wenig engagiert oder serviceorientiert. Auch der Außenbereich machte keinen gepflegten Eindruck. Selbst spät am Abend stand noch schmutziges Geschirr auf den Tischen, die zudem nicht abgewischt wurden.

Insgesamt entspricht dieses Hotel in keiner Weise den Erwartungen, die durch den Internetauftritt geweckt werden. Für den Preis hätten wir deutlich mehr Sauberkeit, besseren Service und eine angemessene Ausstattung erwartet. Leider können wir dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Pros:

It has the best scene of the mountain. Bed was comfy. Theres a lot of Picturesque spots. Cool mountain air.

Cons:

Unexpectedly greeted with cold shower if u take one past 10pm. I think the hotel staff off the heater. Breakfast food was not bad. Normal stuff. But did not like the fact that breakfast time starts late at 7.45am - 9am.

Uitzicht is prachtig

Gebedsoproep van de moskee in de vroege ochtend voor bijna 1,5 uur lang. Personeel niet vriendelijk. Ontbijt is karig. Uitzicht is prachtig, maar voor de rest viel het helaas flink tegen.

Pros:

The View and location is just stunning. Amazing to sit and watch the clouds roll in over the mountains. If you want to just relax and chill this is the place. Staff were ever so helpful, I'm gluten free and cooked special breakfast for me. Truly an exceptional experience.

Pros:

De locatie, het uitzicht en het zwembad.

Cons:

De route naar de villa was afgesloten en er was geen omleiding.
Het personeel was heel lui en onbehulpzaam. De katering-horica was niet of nauwelijks beschikbaar.
De hygiëne was niet goed, er was geen roomservice.
De stroom in het huis deed het eigenlijk gewoon niet op 2 stopcontacten na.
Het ontbijt was niet fris en smaakte niet lekker.
We werden omdat we denk ik uit het westen kwamen ook compleet genegeerd.

Conclusie, ga er niet heen voor een overnachting maar alleen om wat te drinken op het panorama terras.
