No air con in bed room! Was awfully hot in there but air con in the corridor
Hospitality was good with plenty of options for food and drink
the temperatures of the room, found the night really uncomfortable due to it being so hot in the room.
The Dyson fan did nothing too cool down the room and the window didnt open far enough
Lovely hotel however no AC in rooms which really lets it down! The room was like a furnace in 30 degree heat and the fan didn’t work. Considering the price for an overnight stay here it was very disappointing as it was an uncomfortable sleep!
The gym & pool facilities
The room was very hot with no air conditioning
Really good facilities even if you are not a golfer with several bars and restaurants as well as an excellent leaisure facility and spa. Unfortunately like many golf courses, you cannot walk the courses unless playing.
I was accomodated in the Lee Trevino wing which is a bit detached from the main facility and felt a little isolated and basic for the cost, albeit that was the standard twin room (for some reason the standard double was more expensive than a standard twin). Extremely hot during my visit and there was a fan in the room with the advice to keep curtains closed albeit I had no view anyway, however, would assume A/C would be standard is such a prestigious hotel and complex.
Nice events venue
The clubhouse facilities were good
Breakfast options were good
Our room had no AC. It took ages to get more fans, as we couldn’t reach anyone. Even with 3 fans it was roasting in 30+ degree weather.
The staff were nice, but service was very slow as the hotel was packed with guests and other events.
We weren’t informed that there was a separate paid spa to the clubhouse.
It seemed like they were wanting more money for everything and as though we hadn’t paid enough for the basics
Beautiful deco throughtout the hotel, wide variety of menu options in the restaurant
It’s a massive property with so many amenities on site. You have a leisure centre, golfing, bistro. You don’t need to actually leave the area
It wasn’t made clear that not ever room has AC. Practically died during the heatwave it was sooo uncomfortable. There was a circular Dyson but it wasn’t working. Upon calling the desk the guy proceeded to say it doesn’t really work and tell try send a fan up. Eventually we got a desk fan that was circulating hot air all night
Hotel in general is lovely and so was breakfast
Room was unbearably hot. No air con and a fan that didn't work. We honestly never slept the whole night. the amount of money we paid i don't think this is acceptable.
The room was adequately sized and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a lovely size, with a shower that was spacious. Breakfast was in the Ryder restaurant, the same place we ate diner and both occasions were very pleasant, and the staff team could not do enough for you. The food was very nice, such a lovely menu.
The only issue we had, was that the Dyson fan in the room did not blow out any air even though you could hear it was switched on. However, the staff team were very quick to provide us with another fan.
Good location, good food, helpful staff, plenty of parking.
We were initially allocated a Wheelchair Accessible room. We were not asked if this was required, which it was not, so I had to ask to be moved to another ‘standard’ room. The room itself self was aged and somewhat tired. There was no air conditioning although we did have a Dyson table fan which was pretty useless. Not good in 30C heat. There was no refrigerator which I found unusual as I’ve been to lower rated hotels that did have fridges. The walk in shower was inadequate as I had about one inch between my head and the rainfall shower head. The normal shower head could not rise above five feet. We stayed in rooms located in Trevino House. One very annoying point was that a 10% service charge applies to all drinks and food. I ordered drinks at the bar and carried them back to my table, only to find I’d been charged 10% extra for doing all the work.
Venue very good.
No air-conditioning in the room very uncomfortable night.
Great spot for playing the golf courses.
No Aircon in room, appreciate temperatures in UK don’t always reach above 30, but you’d expect a quality hotel chain to have Aircon as a minimum - a window that doesn’t open fully and a cheap Dyson fan that’s too noisy to run at night is not sufficient and poor for the quality of the hotel.
The staff, the area, the facilities, the breakfast & the ability to have lovely food without booking at Sam’. It really is a gem. Next year we will be back for the English schools competition.
Everything
The food was very nice in the dining room. Al a Carte meal was delicious. Breakfast was average.
Our room was dull, dark and dingey NO AIR CONDITIONING. A fan that didn’t work well and would have asked to change rooms but the phone didn’t work. We had to go to reception and ask for another fan. Cobwebs in the room. Not a pleasant stay at all.
