Our family of four had a lovely two night stay at Muckross. The rooms are bright and large. the location is a short drive to the center of Killarney. Its right across the street from the Muckross Abbey and a short walk to Muckross House. a further hike leads to the TORC Falls. We had a nice afternoon at the spa and the full breakfast was filling and delicious. We used this as a base for golf and Dingle and Kerry. It was woodsy and very green. Its a drive to the coast, but we knew that-- for us the location was central for all the things we wanted to do. Dinner in the pub was fun. They have live music every night and the whole crowd was singing along. We would definitely return!

Staff were genuinely warm and professional throughout — a cut above what you'd typically expect. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. A highlight was the managed access to the spa, with capped numbers keeping it uncrowded and relaxing — a smart policy that many hotels fail to implement.
One gripe: the bar is attractive but overpriced, and the absence of any nibbles with drinks (crisps, nuts) was noticeable — even after asking. A small thing, but it jars slightly at that price point.

Distance from town since we were without a car. However staff called for our taxi, and it was not a problem.
