This hotel is incredible! You feel like you are in a museum, where the staff treat you like friends. From the moment you walk in the front doors you are spellbound by the incredible decor and warmth of the staff welcome. The restaurants were a feast for your eyes and tastebuds. I highly recommend staying at the House of Tugu.
I cannot fault this hotel
Everything. Comfortable bed. Spacious room. Attention to detail. Great staff. Delicious food. Beautiful building and collection of antiques; and great location.
Nothing. Except that we didn’t stay longer.
Location is great for exploring old town. Breakfast and afternoon tea are exceptional. It's like staying in a museum or movie set.
Nothing, everything was perfect.
Positioned in the old town of Jakarta just a walk from many classic sights it was like living in a first class hotel/ museum with friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast
There is a lot of roadwork and development around the area but that’s not avoidable.
The over the top Indonesian antiques. The quaint building you can get lost in. Discovering something new every time you walk the halls. The absolutely wonderful staff. The great drinks and endless menus. The backstory. The rendang bitterballen. The rooms that look like they belong in a period drama. The massages. The high tea. The breakfast for days. I can go on. The price for all of that (in our case, extremely reasonable).
Apart from a small issue with the shower I struggle to find anything to improve.
What an extraordinary hotel! Just an extraordinary collection of Asian art; it's likely staying at a museum. Wonderful staff and restaurants and a terrific room. We had to make ourselves go out into the city as House Tugu was such a stimulating place to spend time.
Given that Indonesia is so inexpensive for U.S. travelers, this was a pricey hotel. But well worth it.
Es hat rundum alles gepasst.
Sehr freundliches Personal,
Das Essen im Restaurant und Cafe ist hervorragend.
Die Massage war die Beste, die wir je hatten.
Alles in allem ist es ein sehr schönes historisches Hotel in zentraler Lage zur Altstadt.
Unique. Like staying in an art gallery and museum
Tout est parfait.
L’emplacement, le personnel ultra attentionné, la qualité des chambres, la beauté du lieu…
Very quirky
Hard beds
The staff were incredible, the small touches of was so warm and cool. And it’s just such an interesting place some how almost hidden from the out side.
I can’t think of anything
The hotel facilities are perfect - well thought-through - eye for detail - a very warm bath of customer service at high quality.
The afternoon tea is a lovely welcome to relax and wind down. The free welcome massage is… is a true welcome.
And the hotel is a museum, showing narratives of the past, with great artefacts. Do book a tour.
I got lost. The place is a maze. But it was a pleasure ;-)
The most spectacular place I’ve ever stayed. The character, history and vibes are off the charts. It feels like being on the set of a movie or museum that had been waiting for your arrival. I also arrived ill and the staff couldn’t have been nicer, even sending a staff member to a pharmacy to find antibiotics for me. They personalize so much to you, and are seriously so kind and genuine. Even a rainy day here feels cozy, nostalgic and serene. Also the food is fantastic, including the breakfast and afternoon tea.
Better signage to find your way around.
