We love the Cally Palace. Old world charm without costing a fortune.
Nothing really. It's a lovely hotel with nice staff.
A glorious palatial hotel, a special place to stay over while touring the region. A warm welcome with a spacious, well equipped bedroom. Large, manorial lounges were serviced by a separate bar and evening à la carte meal was delicious and fairly priced. Secure storage for my bike in the locked golf changing room was much appreciated.
Waiting staff were young and friendly but a little more attention to detail would not have gone amiss.

Enjoyed our stay as a whole, welcoming staff at reception, lovely room with a nice and clean bathroom. Plenty of parking at the front of the hotel. Although we did not use it, the golf course appeared well maintained. Breakfast in the morning was your typical buffet breakfast, but it was well stocked and was a nice start to the morning
Dinner was below average. Ordered fish and felt there was too much batter than fish, chips were too crisps, peas were cold. Other than this, overall, a nice staff. Ordered the bottle of chardonnay and it arrived at room temp, with no way of making it colder.

The location was lovely with views over the golf course to the lake and hills . The room was large , if a bit shabby and having 2 bathrooms was a bonus. Hotel does need refurbishment. Good to have a swimming pool although we didn't have time to make use of it. Dinner was good - we didn't have breakfast as we were travelling on. Restaurant staff were very pleasant.
Black mould around the shower - this should not be allowed to build up as bleach deals with it easily when tackled early. The restaurant lacks atmosphere - decor doesn't help. Reception staff not very helpful when we tried to book a table for dinner - even the day before our visit they wouldn't say whether we'd get a table or not!

Beautiful grounds (golf course), friendly staff.
It is an old house with some more recent additions. Part of its charm is the old furniture and fittings in the rooms. The restaurant lacks atmosphere as it is a large open space. Buffet style hot/cold breakfast, although Eggs Benedict etc is available to order for a supplement.

I was looking for a hotel with golf course attached and the Cally Palace fitted the bill perfectly. All the staff were great, the golf course was excellent and a credit to the green keeping staff. All at a very reasonable cost, we’ll definitely be back.

Grand country house hotel in a lovely setting. Great location for exploring the local area. As an ev owner it was a bonus to find ev chargers on site to carry out an overnight charge.
The property had faded grandeur vibes.
Location reception staff lovely people and welcoming could do with a lower counter seem to be hiding
