It was a very enjoyable short stay, and I would certainly consider staying there again.
Pros:

Delighted to find vegan options on the dinner menu in the restaurant both for the main course and for the dessert. My room was generally fine and it was nice to have a view of the sea. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

I did find the wash-hand basin in the ensuite very small, so for example the kettle could only be filled by filling a cup and pouring it into the kettle. It wasn't clear whether the heated towel rail could be turned off when I left the room. But these were small points and in no way detracted from an enjoyable stay.

Hotel with amazing views.
Pros:

Amazing location, brilliant view from our room. The food was good, both dinner and breakfast and the communal areas very pleasant.

Cons:

We had no hot water in our room but I accept that was a one off.

Right on the NC500
Pros:

Hotel is a large victorian pile. It is very well maintained. Room comfortable and both dinner and breakfast were good. Location right on the NC500 route, where accommodation can be hard to get. Nice local walks (I have stayed here before, for a whole week) Good spot for sunsets over Skye (see photo). Shower very good.

Cons:

Hot water took a very long time to arrive at our room. If your room is at the north end of the building you may need to be patient about this.

I was in a new room which was good, but had to step sideways to get to the other side of the bed- very tight space
