Breakfast was lovely. Dining room was nice. The bathroom was huge in our room but we couldn't figure out for some time how to turn the shower to the different shower heads !
Shower head directions !
We loved everything
Loved it all
Plenty of space in the double room
The window had a good insect screen but mosquitos were living in a dark recess somewhere in the room. We were bitten multiple times over two nights....ouch!
Too expensive for basic accommodation
The hotel is wonderful - staff are welcoming, the room was lovely with a gorgeous bathroom and comfy bed! It was a very hot day and when we arrived the windows were open and a fan was already going in our room which I thought was a nice touch. The pub is lovely and the food was delicious - we had a great stay before Goodwood and would certainly recommend it.
Location, friendly efficient staff. Good food. Pub itself was excellent in decor and ambience.
Overlooked the carpark, there was a constant humming from a generator and noisy deliveries at 7.30am. I'm a light sleeper. Classic double room didn't warrant the price tag for a four night stay.
Mooi gebouw.
Geen airco, eten was ok maar niet top.
The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped
Nothing
Lovely room, attentive staff, tasty food and comfy bed. We enjoyed our stay!
Stained carpet
Lovely property back from road. Although turn off and turn onto very busy dual carriageway. Lovely gardens and tea shop.
Good bar (although hot weather had made cask ale unable to be served as they were unable to maintain a suitable temperature which was disappointing). Thoughtful service by afternoon bar staff, recognising the needs of someone on crutches to have drinks brought to the table.
Good bar and restaurant menu - although the mussels I had were of a decent size and would have been in a tasty sauce but were ruined by over liberal salting-informed staff of this but no response from chef.
Nice provision of urn with iced citrus-infused ad lib water which was assiduously replenished with fresh ice.
Bedroom was well arranged with plenty of storage. A third lamp on the desk area would have been good. Plenty of plug and USB sockets. Did not find a WiFi code for guests in the room? Bathroom a tad tight but with good quality, well laundered towels and washing soaps provided. Plenty of toilet roll (often hotels make you feel you need to be miserly.)
Found tea and coffee trays in wardrobe (a note to this effect would have been useful near the coffee machine!) Excellent provision of a decently powered upright fan in a UK heat wave and marvellous pull down window screens to keep the mosquitos out.
Housekeeping put next day’s room change laundry on hall floor (with bed sheets down most )where everyone walks in outdoor shoes with heaven knows what being walked into the carpet! Ugh! (See pic) Also no cushion covers or bed foot throw in the pile which implied these were not changed between guests.
As a disabled person using 2crutches, breakfast service was thoughtless by young lady (who looked liked she’d rather be anywhere else) - No offer to convey something from the cold breakfast bar for me, no offer to bring a glass of juice to my table. No offer of a top up on coffee.
Breakfast was way too average - sausage of good quality but so overcooked a chainsaw would have been better than the blunt breakfast knife. The black pudding was like an ice hockey puck - rock hard and inedible let alone cut-able. Staff availability to complain was just not around.
It was very pretty tucked away on the South downs so great for walking our dogs. We took all 3 and the staff were great.
Drinks were rather expensive!
Really well equipped. Fan was on when we arrived so nice and cool in the hot weather. Nothing was skipped on. There were showers caps, flannels, good quality soap.
The location of the hotel was nice and easy to find I liked the fact that the sleeping accomodation was separate from the main bar. The main bar and eating area were nice although we didnt use the facilities car parking was easy
I struggled with communications with the hotel regarding the booking and felt that the staff answering the phone were not fully trained in reception duties. I felt that the reception area was poor [ the end of the bar area] and seemed to be manned by the bar staff which in itself wasnt a problem as the staff were very nice but just felt a bit ad hoc.
