The location was excellent as was parking although the surface needs attention.
The new Inn was serviceable but needs TLC
Booking .com said 2pm check in but staff made it clear we were not able until 4pm very inconvenient!.The inn needs an uplift/ upgrade painting deepclean.Sink In room cracked toilet very narrow space .room dusty/ some surfaces need a proper wash.Staff were going through motions to serve customers could improve customer care. Breakfast was only available 9am till 10am checkout was 10am the breakfast was OK but not exceptional.
It was pleasant. People were very nice
First night i stayed, the 16th , the TV wasn't working and there was a late breakfast because of staff illness
It was too late for us as we had to catch a bus. So a bit dissapointed with that and we're not offered a discount
From the moment I arrived to the moment I left was one of the best places I have stayed, I have stayed in lots of Hotels all over the UK, this it in my Top 5 places to stay and would 100% Recommend. Friendly staff friendly locals, amazing food great value for money, clean, comfortable inn.
Really i have nothing to dislike
Breakfast was lovely right in middle of village shame bar shut early understood due to sickness
Nothing
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff
Mattress had no protector and had gone extremely bobbily so it was very uncomfortable. The whole place needs updating.
Staff were friendly after being rude to start with but did apologise Hotel desperately needs updating as back in the 60s. Food just ok and not served with good grace. Only stopped 2 nights as had enough. Not a good experience
As above. Not much to like. Far too expensive for such a rough place. Cheap travel kettle and travel hairdryer. Ensuite was 1960s cream colour with lino peeling off floor.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
The room was nice with a bath.
Very disorganized place to stay. Nobody on reception so I went to the bar to book in. This was 3 deep with people so went back to the reception. A Guy turned up and told us he was busy but he'll take us to our room. No tea bags in the room and only decaffeinated coffee. I went back to reception to ask for 2 tea bags and 2 saches of normal coffee. The guy came back with 20 teabags and asked do you want anything else. I again asked for some coffee. He came back 5 minutes later and said we only have white or brown. It was sugar not coffee. He said he'd bring the coffee up in 20 minutes but nothing materialized. Booked in for tea in the restaurant your on a nice table 10. This is your table number 8. Ordered our tea starter arrived which was nice however half way through the meal a guy came to our table and asked if we're ready for our main meal. I asked him to give us 5 minutes to finish our starters and he said Im busy here. We got our Main meals after 5 minutes and it was overcooked. I went to pay the bill for 2 starters, a pint of Murphy's and Theakstones Best, a bottle of shiraz, 2 main meals. That's £900 Sir. Not a chance this is what we had. Went through the order with him and expected him to review and re type the order into the computer. He agreed with me that the Bill didn't come to £900. He then asked me again what we had for tea so he could reformulate the bill. Breakfast took 55 minutes to arrive with a 1 hour breakfast booking window. There were a table of 4, us and an elderly couple of 2. We had to ask for cup of coffee or tea. We were sick and tired of hearing one of the male members of staff telling us and other customers do you realize I'm busy.
Beautiful location in a quiet village. Quaint old pub.
Everywhere was a little bit shabby and in need of some tlc. Kettle was missing from room. Breakfast wasn't served until 9.15am which was too late for us especially on our final day as we needed an early start. Management was a bit chaotic.
The location for us was brilliant, the rooms were absolutely spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable, despite being in a pub we heard nothing and slept excellent.
Would definitely stop here again if the new management get things pulled round and get things sorted.
We had to leave early ish at 8.15am and the breakfast didn’t start till gone 9am we was told which is far too late, something should have been offered to us as we had paid for breakfast, even a cup of coffee would have been nice!
Very quaint old world pub in a very picturesque village. Very clean bedding and super soft towels. Good breakfast and friendly helpful staff especially Dave and Ashton. Location was great for us and free parking. Breakfast served from 9.15am so didn't have to get up early. Size of the bedroom was good and had everything we needed, ie large tv, hairdryer, fan, toiletries and hospitality tray.
Unfortunately quite a lot of flies in the bar/breakfast room. The bedroom was basically clean but we stayed for three nights and the room was not cleaned during our stay ie no fresh towels, no bins emptied and hospitality tray not replenished. No glasses in the bathroom.
Staff were friendly. Food was excellent. Comfortable room
Central location and nice breakfast
No food available in evenings.
Breakfast didn't start till 9;15 (much too late on 2nd day as i needed to leave before 8!)
