DONT GO!
Pros:

It was a good location but was on a very busy road so very noisy. Room was nice ( when we eventually got it ) . Chef and manager pleasant

Cons:

We arrived at 2 as stated on booking .com. This very rude man( scruffy with a terrible manner ) said it was 4pm . We asked him to look after our bags and after much grumpiness kept them . At 4 checking in , same man with same manner took us to our room .He couldn’t find the key , so went for a big box of keys and looked through it. Couldn’t find it . ( no speech just grunted at us ). He found us another room but disappeared before I had looked at it . There was no food on that day but there was breakfast the next morning . Chef was nice but had to be the waiter as well! Not a great Yorkshire welcome if people had come a long way. Like fawlty towers

Cons:

It needs a lot of TLC. The cottage needs renovation in my opinion. Kitchen mugs were all dirty, no tea towel or dish cloth or oven gloves. Some sort of pick ax was left outside on the table, not ideal with young children. The breakfast took too long to be served. This affected our onward journey and really needs addressing.

we stayed in one of the cottages for 1 night breakfast was supposed to be included only 1 staff member turned up to serve breakfast only given drinks after 45 mins, children were crying with hunger had to leave and go to a nearby cafe which cost us in excess of £50 the only staff member who did bother to turn up was lovely but was too busy serving everyone drinks to even start the breakfast orders

1night stay ,staff lovely.
Public areas where excellent.
Bedding and towels snowy white.
Bathroom was good ,couple of mould spots around the shower area could do with a little TLC , however for the money paid excellent.
Unfortunately due to a breakdown of gas cooker no hot meals or breakfast on during our stay but the owner arranged for us to eat elsewhere at his cost, couldn't not have been nicer and would stay here again without question if back in the area

Disappointing! It was meant as a surprise for my husband but I felt let down by the general decor
Pros:

Excellent evening meal on first night although no beer available (they had run out!) Lovely steak and pie - plenty of hearty food.
Second evening - only burgers and pizzas available - pizza very tasty but residents informed by ay of a notice on the bar!!.
Decided not to stay in for 3rd night's meal and went elsewhere.
Breakfasts very good although slow service on one occasion due to the chef not being able to gain entry as landlord sleepingin!!
Good location in centre of village.

Cons:

Some Staff were not at all friendly - some staff members did not speak even though we were trying to book in on arrival. Hotel appeared to be very disorganised and very little information conveyed to customers/residents. The pub and rooms were very 'tired' although clean. Different curtains and soft furnishings would have made the place more welcoming at little expense.

Pleasant stay. Would i rush back? Probably not!
Pros:

The location for us was ideal and the reason above everything we chose the New Inn. Although the property is tired and could do with a bit of a refresh it was clean and comfortable.

Cons:

There were 2 things that stood out for us.
1. The check-in time on booking.com says 14:00. When we arrived at the property at 14:40 there was a handwritten note on reception stating the check-in time was 16:00. There was no flexibility to bring this forward at all. Having looked back on other reviews it seems this situation has been going on for a few months and i am sure it could be easily rectified to correct the advertised check-in time.
2. Breakfast was only served from 9:00 - 10:00 which in my opinion is far too late, particularly if you had plans for the day. This was further compounded by all guests arriving in the dining room at 9:00 so our breakfast wasn’t served until 10:05. Not great when you have a booking reserved for lunch. That said, the breakfast, when it finally arrived was good!

Excellent location. Nice pub and food.

Cons:

Beds did not have mattress protectors on and the mattress was not clean and you could feel the bobbles of it through the sheets. Only one pillow and a very thin one. Shower was hit and miss when it worked and started and stopped for the 5 mins I was in it. Only one milk in the room and when asked about more staff said they had none. Later another member found us some. Tv in room which did not work. When reported we were told they knew and we would just have to play I spy instead. The breakfast was lovely, however, waited 50 minutes on Sunday for it as only one man on serving drinks and cooking. It was so long that 8 people left before eating. Could be managed better with more care for guests.

Traditional pub in a good location
Pros:

Friendly staff. Room clean and tidy. Traditional pub which has been updated. Good cooked breakfast. Nice location with parking. Reasonable price too. We would stay again.

Cons:

A wider food choice would be good. Needs investment in concentrating on the lunchtime evening meal options to bring the pub up a level, especially in a pretty village and competitive trade.

Don’t stay unless you are desperate

Checking in took ages, bar was under staffed , tills didn’t work so I couldn’t get a receipt for my meal, service was slow, food for dinner wasn’t great, breakfast took so long I had to leave before getting anything to eat.
They lost the keys for the restaurant so we had to walk through a side corridor at the kitchen , shower head was black with mould, bed was uncomfortable
