View of the rock and the friendly staff make it a lovely place to visit.
The day spa not great compared to others. Very hot in the treatment rooms and wasn't an overall relaxing experience. Not sure how qualified they are. We dined at the Chinese restaurant it was very tired.

I thought the food could have been better.
Très bel hôtel dans la nature luxuriante, mention spéciale à la belle et grande piscine. Nous avons passé 3 nuits avec nos 3 enfants dans une chambre familiale (idéale, les enfants dormaient à l’étage). Bonne localisation pour rayonner autour de Sigiriya. Le personnel est très attentionné. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour !
L’horaire du petit déjeuner 6h-9h qu’il faudrait allonger un peu lorsque l’on veut récupérer d’un grand voyage.

Aliya Resort & Spa is an oasis in the middle of the jungle. The grounds are beautiful and the people are even more so. The staff was attentive to our needs and our kids felt comfortable and welcome! Piyasiri knew their drink orders by day 2 of the trip and was so nice to them. Akash the lead naturalist took us on a Safari that my kids LOVED! We saw so many elephants and he timed the trip perfectly. The staff thought ahead and assured we had a nice lunch for the ride. The spa services were amazing as well. Mali my masseuse was professional and amazing. Lastly, huge kudos to Alisha for looking out for us the entire trip! From the moment she knew we’d arrive late for dinner she ensured that we had food waiting for us to checking in throughout the trip to ensure any issues were resolved. I look forward to experiencing this wonderful resort again in future travels

The property is set on lovely grounds with a view of Sigiriya. The rooms are spread on along pathways. The problem is that these are not well lit and as I found out can be unsafe with national guides allowed to stay on the premises. Having to experience one of these guides being sexually inappropriate was quite uncomfortable and concerning as you would not expect that from a five star hotel.
The food was average, the staff were not very helpful in providing information especially about the included paper making factory and pottery experience. I got some vague information from the assistant manager when I asked which was disappointing.
Beautiful scenery and pool
The buffet dinner was great one night and pretty average the second time, not sure what changed in the kitchen.
