The Manager is just perfect, and therefore the staff too, a wonderful team, without all the fluff and promises, all just doing. The friendliness and cleanliness a par above what is normal standard elsewhere.
The welcome was friendly and informative, the evening meal (the best Fish and Chips we had in the UK) The breakfast was
delicious. The room...old wordly, in its best sense, we would love to come again, and can recommend wholeheartedly.
No idea....it was all wonderfull.
Beautiful old building with so much character in a fab village. Kent as it should be.
Nothing
Our stay was very good. Convenient free car parking nearby. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a good sized room.
The only downside was that we were in a loft room on one of the hottest nights of the year and the window could only be opened a couple of inches.
Enjoyed breakfast, and dinner on both
Evenings. Bed very comfortable. Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff.
We were not informed until arrival that on site parking was not available. Room
Rather tired, and could do with a refresh. Bathroom missing towel rail, for sink, soap dish. USB connectors.
Very friendly staff
Food excellent
Not the hotel's fault but it was very very noisy traffic. Woke us up very early due to deliveries going on.
Hotel ancien, chalereux et très traditionnel. Personnel agréable, jolie petite ville pour faite etape !
The Hotel was Excellent, the location is beautiful and the history of the hotel fits perfectly. Food quality is very high and the bar and ambiance super enjoyable. What makes this hotel one to recommend and revisit is the Team. All staff are outstanding with Medi offering a service level you would expect at the Savoy ! She went above and beyond to look after us, was a delight to deal with and is worthy of any recognition you can bestow on her.
Only the lack of air con which was understandable in such an old building, room fan was of no effect
Have stayed here before. Really lovely 1600 year old inn in a quaint village. Very friendly staff, great food. Nice garden area too. Room very clean with tea and coffee making facilities.
Leuk hotel, lekker terras, mooie omgeving
Kamers kunnen een kleine opknapbeurt gebruiken. Even een likje verf doet wonderen. Geluid van verkeer overdag is hinderlijk. S'nachts is het stil.
Old world charm smashing new beer garden
Unfortunately it was unusually hot and because of the age of the hotel no air con
The very friendly staff and interesting to the building
Having to park in a public car park overnight
We have stayed here before and really like the area
There were black hairs in the bath!! I have ginger hair and my husband is bald! Not nice
Location great for our needs and in a nice area. The area has a good feel about it. Wish we’d had time to explore locally. The staff very friendly and helpful. In general, a pleasant stay. Our breakfast was very nice. The property lovely and quirky/interesting. The pub dinner plentiful.
Room was sufficient although we slept poorly. The bed comfortable enough but just a standard double. Go for king size if possible. The bathroom could do with some TLC but everything in working order.
History and location.
The hotel bar closed at 9.30pm and the downstairs areas closed by 10.30pm with the doors locked, lights switched off and area alarmed. This meant you only had your bedroom from 10.30pm - not something you would normally expected in a hotel.
I believe we were upgraded as the room looked a lot better than the photos. There was a jacuzzi bath but the jacuzzi bit didn’t work. As we weren’t even expecting that it wasn’t at all an issue. Great breakfast, I wish I had room for the croissants! I had a vegan and my partner a full English. Very happy. Evening meal was lovely.
Food quality,, bathroom (mostly), shower, breakfast good in part (scrambled eggs, yoghurt, croissants), shower.
Inattentive service dining outside
Breakfast tea, no toast, fruit/granola/yoghurt was 85% yoghurt. Nowhere to place toothbrush etc above basin.
Very hot room on sunny day.
