Astoria Hanoi Hotel & Travel

I recently traveled to Vietnam and booked this hotel online. I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They always seemed to know exactly what I needed. During my stay, the air conditioning in my room did not work well, so I asked the reception if I could change rooms. They quickly arranged a new air conditioner and even upgraded my room, which was really nice. The staff’s English could be improved a bit, but that is all. Thank you to the hotel for giving us a wonderful stay. I hope to see you again on our next visit to Vietnam.

Initially, we planned to stay here for 2 days, but because we fell in love with Hanoi and especially this hotel, we decided to extend our stay to a total of 10 days. There are many restaurants, cafés, and food options nearby, including fruits, pastries, eggs, rice, noodles, and soup. I got to try something new almost every day, and everything was delicious. Our room had a balcony, which was perfect for enjoying the view of the cathedral. The bed was very comfortable and quite spacious. Ms. Tracy and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. They had brochures for many tourist attractions and were very knowledgeable about each tour and activity. All services such as tours, laundry, and airport taxi were arranged through the hotel and added to the room bill, making payment at check out very easy. They also helped us exchange money.

This was my second time staying at Astoria Hotel, and I am very satisfied with the service here. First of all, the bellman was very attentive and thoughtful. When I arrived at the lobby, the reception team warmly welcomed me with bright smiles and provided detailed information about the hotel’s services. When I got to the room, everything was clean, tidy, and pleasantly fragrant. During my 5 day stay, I had the chance to try food and drinks at Dương’s Restaurant next to the hotel, and everything was delicious with reasonable prices. There was also one experience I will never forget, which was the Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba day trip. It was absolutely amazing. I also wanted to try the night bioluminescence tour in Cat Ba, but unfortunately I did not have enough time.

We really enjoyed staying here and thought the room was spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained. The overall experience was lovely, but I do have a few small recommendations that could make the bathroom more functional. It would be nice to have a small shelf or corner rack inside the shower for guests to place their toiletries while showering. At the moment, the only available space was near the bathtub, which felt slightly convenient. Adding hooks for bath sponges or hanging items would also be appreciated. A non-slip floor mat in the bathroom would be another useful addition, especially for families with children or elderly guests. These little improvements would make an already great room even more comfortable.

We chose the largest room with a wraparound balcony, and it was absolutely worth it. The room felt spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with beautiful views and plenty of space to relax. Everything was also cleaned very carefully every day. The staff were consistently kind and professional, especially the receptionists and housekeeping team, who always greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel welcome.

The staff was very accommodating!! I had run into a bit of trouble and he was very very helpful!! All of their staff was very friendly! I got upgraded into 2 queen beds room and love it! Def recommended!

It was nice - little loud outside at night

The rooms are excellent, very clean and well organized. I was on a business trip and needed to print some documents urgently. The receptionist helped me print them right at the front desk, which was quick and very convenient. Small things like that really helped reduce my stress a lot.

I booked this place for a short solo trip of two nights, and it ended up being my most enjoyable stay. The room was clean, tidy, and matched my personal taste perfectly, which made it easy to feel at home. Everything was simple but well designed, giving a sense of comfort without any unnecessary extras. What really stood out, though, was the staff at the reception. They were incredibly enthusiastic, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated that kind of positive energy. It made the entire experience feel more secure and enjoyable. Whenever I needed help or information, they were quick and genuinely happy to assist. The atmosphere overall was calm and pleasant, which made it easy to relax after exploring the city.

I’ve never experienced hospitality quite like this before. From the moment I arrived, I was genuinely impressed by the warmth and kindness of the entire team. Every staff member went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay. The service felt sincere rather than just routine, which made a big difference. My room was spotless, well maintained, and verry comfortable to return to after a long day. It was clear that great attention is paid to cleanliness and detail. The staff were always proactive, helpful, and happy to assist with anything I needed. Their effort really elevated the whole experience and made it feel special. I am a former staff member of the U.S. Embassy, visiting Hanoi for a vacation and to meet old friends. This hotel, Astoria, was recommended by my friends. At first, I didn’t expect much since it’s a small hotel in the Old Quarter. HOWEVER, I was truly surprised. From the bellman to housekeeping and reception, everyone always greeted me with a smile and kindly checked on me whenever we crossed paths. Here, I felt a level of care just like being with family.

The property feels new, modern, and very well maintained, which immediately gave a good first impression. The reception staff were especially kind, attentive, and always welcoming whenever I needed assistance. Their friendly attitude made the whole experience feel much more comfortable and personal. The room was very clean, smelled fresh, and had a bright, relaxing atmosphere. After long days exploring the city, it was nice coming back to such a comfortable space. The location is also very convenient, only around a 10-minute walk to Ta Hien Beer Street and other lively areas in the Old Quarter. At the same time, the surrounding area still felt calm enough to rest well at night. There are also plenty of local restaurants, cafés, and food options nearby, which made it easy to try different Vietnamese dishes. Considering the location, cleanliness, and level of service, I thought the price was very reasonable.

Their advice helped me discover places I might have otherwise missed. I also found the pricing to be fair and consistent, which was impressive given the central tourist location. Everything felt straightforward and well managed. It’s a great option for travelers who want both comfort and helpful local support.

I actually stayed at this hotel around five years ago when it was under its previous ownership, and back then it was quite average and nothing particularly memorable. Coming back recently, I was surprised to see how much it has improved. The property now feels refreshed, with renovated rooms that are much cleaner, brighter, and more comfortable than I remember. The overall standard has definitely gone up, and the hotel feels much more well cared for. Another big change is the staff, who are now very enthusiastic, friendly, and eager to assist guests at any time. Their positive attitude really enhances the experience and makes the stay feel more welcoming. It’s clear that the new ownership has made a strong effort to upgrade both the facilities and service quality. Everything feels more organized and guest-oriented compared to my previous visit. I genuinely appreciated the improvements during this stay. It was nice to see such a positive transformation over the years.

The room was affordable, clean, and nice. It’s close to the night market—only about a 5–7 minute walk. I didn’t expect such a good room at that price. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. We also rented a motorbike right across from the hotel, which was very convenient.

Notre famille était très inquiète et a immédiatement contacté l’établissement pour demander de l’aide. Heureusement, le personnel de l’hôtel a réagi rapidement et a retrouvé les objets manquants en très peu de temps. Non seulement ils ont pris le temps de tout vérifier soigneusement, mais ils ont également emballé les affaires avec beaucoup d’attention et organisé une livraison rapide et sécurisée jusqu’à notre domicile. Le professionnalisme, le dévouement et la gentillesse du personnel nous ont profondément touchés. Toute notre famille souhaite adresser ses plus sincères remerciements à l’ensemble de l’équipe et à la direction de l’hôtel pour leur aide précieuse et leur sens du service exemplaire.
