Blue Waters Resort and Spa

This was our fifth stay at Blue Waters. The best aspect of this hotel is the staff - they are all amazing, friendly and welcoming. There is a unique charm at Blue Waters, it’s beautiful and a lovely environment. The only reason I haven’t given a 5 star review was because, whilst lovely, The Cove restaurant didn’t change its menu once in 10 days - and the menu is quite short, so it meant repeating meals and I think a rotation would be welcomed by guests. Also, I think they’ve stopped doing named brands of alcohol, which is another same.

Just finished our third holiday to Blue Waters over the last decade. The first time was a couple and second two times with children. As always we had a fantastic time. The staff are super helpful and jolly, and amazing with the kids. We made quite a lot of use of the kids club this trip and our boys were big fans of Abigail who they remembered from the previous visit. The great thing about the hotel is it has a number of restaurants, beach areas, pools and bars, so you never feel it is too busy or crowded, which makes for a much more relaxing experience.
This trip we went out of the hotel for a few meals which made us appreciate the service and the food in Blue Waters all the more.
My only error was forgetting they had windsurfers at Watersports until the last day, as would have done that more.
We did a couple of trips out on the speedboat so as to go snorkelling. Again the guys on the boat were very attentive and gave a high level of confidence in their abilities with the boat.
All in all a great trip, with almost perfect weather and we very much hope to return again.

I have been visiting Antigua since 2000 and always enjoy our visits to the Island. This was our 2nd stay at Blue Waters in the last 3 years and had another wonderful stay with my family.

The service and staff at the hotel are excellent, everyone is friendly and helpful. Tramaine at Veronica's bar is a gem and our boys enjoyed numerous trips out on the boat and sailing with the water sports team who are always in high spirits.

Well appointed rooms and as there are so many private pools and access to 3 beaches, that is is quiet and tranquil, we had a lot of privacy but the staff always remained attentive and helpful.

The restaurants also provide a good level of variety for a 10+ day stay and the kids club allowed my wife and I to relax and go sailing - the all inclusive package felt like good value compared to other hotels we have visited too.

Another amazing trip and we are all looking forward to going back again.

We visited Blue Waters as a family in July 2026.
The hotel really is lovely in lots of ways and there are some wonderful members of staff.
The location is fabulous, on a gorgeous beach with very well kept grounds. The water sports available are varied and the people who work in the water sports centre are great, very knowledgable and fun.
The service across the rest of the hotel is a bit hit and miss. The staff in the Palm restaurant were wonderful, so warm and friendly. However, we had a very below average meal one night at the Cove with forgotten drinks, overcooked steak and inattentive service. When we mentioned that the steak was overcooked the server rolled her eyes. After that the staff stood around chatting and ignored us, rather than take our dessert order. On the end we just left.
The reception staff were generally friendly and helpful although one member of staff was fairly stand-offish and seemed quite disinterested.
We stayed in one of the Cove suites and the room was lovely. However, the entranceway and communal hall was quite tired looking, often with empty glasses and plates adorning the surfaces.
One of our party became unwell with diarrhoea and sickness and was completely out of action, bedridden for 2 days. We are not sure of the cause of this.
There was generally a lovely atmosphere around the resort with the other guests however some unfortunately lowered the tone considerably, loudly belching and vaping around the pool.
Overall we had a good time but with a number of improvements we could have had a great time.

Blue Waters Resort and Spa is a beautiful resort with a lovely location. This was our second stay here. We previously stayed 8 years ago.

The resort has become tired and a little Grubby with renovations needed in many areas. The standards of service and food have dropped significantly since our first stay and I believe the resort is somewhat surviving on its past reputation.
The strength of the resort is its staff who are always helpful and friendly. I believe they give their very best with limited resources and investment in the resort.

Our room was tired and had a few issues with plumbing. The turndown service was a little hit and miss , although this improved as the resort guests numbers were reduced.

The service in the restaurants is a little hit and miss but always friendly. I found the food at breakfast very limited and the hygiene very questionable!! On many occasions I found birds eating at the buffet and flies on the food. The individual butter packs had holes in them where the birds had been pecking. Fresh orange juice and white bread were not always available, I consider these items basic.
The food in the main restaurant in general was below what I would expect in a 5 star resort. We ate dinner mainly at the Cove restaurant where we found the food to be fairly good. The service was again hit and miss and sometimes dam right comical, for what should be a top restaurant. . The staff here did their best and I highlight "Javier" for his efforts. I feel that again they are working with limited resources. This restaurant could be so much more.
In the various bars, drinks served were always of a good quality but limited choice.
A number of guests including myself experienced tummy problems, this was reported to management who were investigation the matter. Up until the time we departed the cause had not been identified. I experienced the problem for almost the duration of our vacation.

We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the beach and pool areas. The two pool areas were tired and grubby. The beach had orange seaweed washing up every day. Although the resort staff did remove some, I feel they are fighting a losing battle.
The sea itself was very cloudy and contaminated with seaweed and other various suspensions. It was impossible to snorkel and I found swimming unpleasant.

The resort needs investment otherwise the decline will continue, I urge the owners to take note of my comments.

It saddens me to say that we would not return to this resort as we feel that for the money we paid there are a number of other resorts offering far better standards of quality and service for your money.

We stayed at this mid range resort for 9 nights all inclusive at a price tag of over £9k expecting a seamless and relaxing stay and although the hotel is wonderful in some respects, they fail to hit the basics which create a lasting impression.
Food is above average, the staff are friendly but for over 1/2 of our stay we had no hot water in either of our rooms in the 100 block with very little interest in resolving the problem requiring daily calls to the front desk and emails to the manager. I would have expected that after the first report, something would have been done to ensure that the problem was resolved and at the end of the day and when getting ready for dinner, we could simply step into a hot shower.
I don't often take the time to write a review, but calling repeatedly for something so basic is ridiculous and not what you'd expect at this price range.

Our family of four has just returned from a wonderful holiday at Blue Waters, Antigua, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. This was our second stay at the resort, having last visited eight years ago, and it was every bit as special as we remembered.

We've been fortunate enough to stay at many resorts across the Caribbean, but what continues to set Blue Waters apart is its attention to the little details that make such a big difference. From the moment you arrive, you're made to feel genuinely welcome. Check-in is seamless, with a refreshing welcome drink and cooling towel, setting the tone for a truly relaxing stay.

The service throughout the resort is exceptional. We experienced a minor issue with the air conditioning in one of our rooms, but it was dealt with quickly, professionally and calmly by Kevin, which perfectly reflects the way the resort is managed. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble.

The staff are undoubtedly Blue Waters' greatest asset. Everyone greets you with a smile and goes out of their way to ensure you have the best possible holiday. We'd particularly like to thank Derah, who was absolutely wonderful, along with Shennelle, Erol, Javier and Sharon. Their warmth, friendliness and genuine desire to help made our stay even more memorable.

The food throughout the resort was consistently excellent, with plenty of choice and a very high standard. A special mention has to go to The Cove, which was outstanding. The setting is spectacular, the atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, and every meal we enjoyed there was beautifully prepared and presented. It genuinely rivals many standalone fine dining restaurants and was one of the highlights of our stay.

It was also lovely to see Kevin again after all these years. He is an excellent General Manager who clearly leads by example, and Nicole was fantastic, helping us arrange both our car hire and an unforgettable boat trip to Bird Island, which is an absolute must if you're staying at the hotel.

Blue Waters is certainly a premium resort, but you genuinely get what you pay for. The beautiful grounds, stunning beaches, exceptional food, attentive service and peaceful atmosphere make it worth every penny.

A huge thank you to everyone at Blue Waters for making our holiday so special. We left with wonderful memories and can't wait to return.

We stayed at the turtle cottage and were taken care of by Nicole. She was excellent booked our restaurants activities and transfers. The villa was amazing and we had a blast.

The resort is handy for the airport but we never heard or saw a plane while there, and handy for St Johns for shopping. Our room in Cove suites was large, comfortable, and well appointed. The pool shared by seven rooms in the Cove building was a nice secluded area to get away from the main beach and other pools. Service was excellent throughout - everyone engaged with us. Special thanks to Kina in the Palm restaurant, and Monique looking after the rooms, who both went over and above expectations. All three restaurants were great with lots of choice. Our only complaint was the spa which felt expensive for what we got.

We loved the serenity and service of this resort. I recommend splurging for a room in the Cove…great bar/food service and each villa has its own infinity pool. The sunset views are to die for. Food was amazing. Make your reservations quickly upon arrival and don’t miss a chance to eat at that the Cove at least once.

Blue Waters is a wonderful place. Heaven on Earth. It welcomes you in and wraps you up like a warm blanket. This is almost entirely due to the wonderful staff, who all seem to know your name as soon as you arrive. How do they do that? Where else in the world would you find a general manager who greets every guest personally every day? Nothing is too much trouble and service always comes with a smile. The beautiful gardens are lovingly intended by John and his team and the colours seem to be exceptionally stunning at this time of year. It’s as though you’re holidaying in a tropical garden. Food in all the restaurants is first class. Something that’s often overlooked but definitely worthy of a mention is the home made rum and raisin ice cream. It’s packed with rum and in fact is now our favourite dessert except perhaps for Chocoholic in The Cove Restaurant. The Palm is our favourite spot for breakfast anywhere in the world. We’ve stayed in several types of room now and could recommend any of them so just choose something that suits your budget. For a touch of exclusivity try the Cove Suites and for a stunning sea view the beachfront rooms in block 1 are fab. We’ve travelled about quite a lot but Blue Waters is the only place we return to again and again. It’s home now. PS It’s also an amazing place for a wedding or special celebration. Mandie, the wedding coordinator, has years of experience and can arrange a magical day, even at short notice!

This hotel's location, staff and cuisine continue to mark this out as an experience to be savoured. Water sports from Hobie cats to kayaking and paddle board or take one the hotel's 2 powerboats out for an exploration and experience. The food is of a high standard and varied. The Palm restaurant is by the beautiful quiet beach and the Reef is by the pool overlooking the bay. The Cove restaurant is open evenings in a delightful position only a short walk or buggy ride away. We have only heard good things from other guests, some of whom are repeat visitors. Close to St John's and taxis or car rental to visit Shirley Heights, English Dockyard etc are available from reception. Highly recommended

We loved the beautifully landscaped property,the proximity on the beach,the water cups and station throughout the property and the staff we re all very friendly.

Beautiful facility, well maintained, great gardens

After 15 years of holidays driving to France with our beloved rescue dogs, it was finally time to find a really special place to visit, just the 2 of us. After poring over endless reviews across the Caribbean I finally decided the perfect fit for us was Blue Waters and yes it absolutely deserves its glowing reviews and exceeded my expectations which were already high.

As soon as you are welcomed into reception with the sublime turquoise sea framed in the background you feel a zen like calm wash over you. Most hotels it takes a few days to feel at home but here the adorable team take you under their wing and look after you with so much kindness and dedication throughout. I can’t single out anyone as they are all, without exception the best. It was lovely to see how valued they are at a staff appreciation day held whilst we were there and richly deserved. Adding in the stunning beaches and gardens to the mix makes your holiday truly memorable.

The sea is a balmy 30c and swimming/floating on the platforms at sunset watching Pelicans dive right next to you is truly magical. All 3 sea facing restaurants, are excellent and AI allows you to enjoy everything you want, and more and there’s plenty! It’s v tempting to stay put in such beautiful surroundings but don’t miss scooter snorkelling with turtles at Galleon Bay (magical experience) watch the sun set over the island at the stunning Shirley Heights whilst enjoying the music and soaking up the atmosphere, an island tour and to meet the warm and friendly locals but I also can’t blame you if you prefer to stay cocooned in the serenity of Blue Waters.

We never go back to a place but this time we have broken all the rules and are already planning to return the exact same dates next year. In the meantime I took a 40 min audio from our room of the sea lapping outside with intermittent bird song to remind me of our special place and I stare longingly at lovely Rachel’s fridge magnets.

In short it’s a wonderfully intimate hotel where we came away feeling totally refreshed, spoilt and recharged. It was the perfect antidote to the wettest winter on record in Cornwall and a tough year Please thank every single member of the fantastic team for making our stay one to treasure. If you are a solo traveller BW also comes highly recommended.

I have only one recommendation to add and that’s for a bring your dog to work day at BW. I think it would be equally popular with the team and guests alike and please remind Dotsy I will be back to check on her swimming progress next April!

We came to Blue Waters for our honeymoon after a great stay in 2023 and were not disappointed - we had an amazing 2 weeks!

The resort itself is beautiful - lush green gardens, beautiful cove beaches and great pools.

From the moment we arrived we felt at home and were extremely grateful to the team for honouring our room request at such a busy time. We stayed in a beachfront room with a beautiful view over the bay. The room was kept in perfect condition every day by the housekeeping team and we enjoyed a nightly drink on the balcony from the minibar that is topped up daily.

There are 3 restaurants to choose from and the standard of the food is excellent. We didn’t have a bad meal and the menu rotation means we didn’t get bored even after 2 weeks. The Cove is a particularly special place and a must visit - just make sure you sort out reservations a few days in advance as it does get booked up!

What makes Blue Waters is its staff! They all go out of their way to make your time there special and work extremely hard every day. Special mentions go to Tramaine and Gavi at the pool bar - we loved our afternoons sitting at the bar chatting to them and enjoying the wonderful cocktails, and Keva, Anne-Marie and Sparkel always welcomed us to breakfast at the Palm with a smile!

Blue Waters Antigua is truly one of the Caribbean’s standout luxury resorts and an experience that exceeded expectations from start to finish.

From the moment of arrival, it was evident that this is a property driven by exceptional leadership. Kevin and his team deserve tremendous credit for the culture of hospitality they have created. His leadership is clearly reflected in every department and every interaction, from the warm welcome at reception, to the attentiveness of the restaurant staff, housekeeping team, bartenders and beach attendants. Genuine hospitality is difficult to teach, but at Blue Waters it feels effortless and authentic.

The property itself is absolutely stunning. The ocean views from my room were breathtaking, waking up each morning to the calm turquoise waters and the sound of the sea was incredibly relaxing. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the resort perfectly balances luxury with a laid-back Caribbean charm.

The beaches are among the best I have experienced in the region, with multiple quiet coves that never felt overcrowded. Combined with the many beautiful swimming pools spread across the property, there was always another peaceful corner to discover and enjoy.

Dining was another highlight throughout the stay. The restaurants consistently delivered excellent food, atmosphere and service. One unexpected standout was the calamari from the room service menu, easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere in the Caribbean. Absolutely outstanding.

What truly sets Blue Waters apart however is the creativity behind the cocktail programme. Every drink felt thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented and full of flavour. It is clear that significant care and innovation go into the beverage experience and it elevated the entire stay.

Blue Waters Antigua delivers the type of luxury Caribbean escape that reminds you why the region remains unmatched for hospitality and natural beauty. This is a resort that understands the details, values service excellence and creates memorable experiences at every turn.
