We loved everything and the staff were amazing and couldn’t be more helpful. We all loved the breakfast and as my son’s girlfriend couldn’t make up her mind as there are only certain things she can eat, they made her both. Second time we have stayed and will be back again.

Room was spacious, quiet and well appointed
My wife found the lighting inadequate for applying her makeup; it had subdued lighting with no illuminated mirror. Also, sink in the bathroom was tiny (room12)
Property was well presented and the room looked it has been recently decorated. Close to the centre of Newbury. We also eat in the restaurant which was very good.
Well position and a short walk to town
This place was amazing with very good food and very friendly staff. We came here after a horrid night at another hotel where the bed was so awful I had to sleep on the floor! After learning about this, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We were delighted with our bed here. I had the best night sleep since leaving the USA. The waterfall shower had fantastic pressure and the water was always very hot! The convenient fridge in the room and tea pot with selection of tea was great! I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was here. The room was clean with plenty of fresh towels every day. The full English Breakfast was nothing short of delicious! My husband loved it every day but I went for the cinnamon French toast with blueberry jam and fresh fruit and creme freche. We're so happy we found the Coat and Bear and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a quality stay at a fantastic hotel.

Central location with all the facilities
Convenient location. Reasonable menu choices and availability of choices.
The room was close to car park and lots of people coming and going in the corridor. There was not enough parking spaces in the car park. When I had booked previously I paid £30 for 2 breakfast but this time paid £46 for a smaller breakfast that was cold. The smoke alarm flashed all night keeping me awake.
Amazing location right on the high street and the whole place is kitted out to perfection - the decor is just gorgeous. We got upgraded and the room was fab, so comfy, had a great sleep.
Couldn’t park, no spaces, so had to pay a tenner in the car park opposite but no biggie
