The character of the property - the staff was very friendly & helpful
A little old dated - I was staying in the building next door to the manor house.
A very nice hotel in an old building at the very heart of the city. In addition it has a very convenient free parking for hotel guest. Finally the receptionist was really welcoming and friendly.
The hotel building was impressive and the room was quiet and comfortable
We couldnt get the shower to run at the right temperature. More fresh fruit at breakfast would be nice
Amazing 19th Century building loaded with history, architecture and authenticity. Check out the book on the history of Purbeck House (photo below).
Maybe could use an update.
Good location in the town. A wonderful and friendly hotel with lovely victorian features. Very comfortable bed and the continental breakfast well worth it, setting us up nicely for the days travels.
Maybe breakfast could be included in the price?
Very good for a short stay. Only a short walk to the beach.
Large room in the Lodge. Lovely king size bed. Excellent continental breakfast. Very helpful staff.
No option of evening meal.
Very friendly staff. The hotel is a lovely old building very close to the town centre. There was a problem with our shower but this was quickly resolved.
Breakfast is continental style but with huge choice.
We have stayed before and hopefully again in the future.
Thanks Richard
Nothing
It was a well kept property and it is situated at a really good location. The rooms were clean, the washrooms were clean. There was sufficient place to kept the bags and clothes. Overall we had a good time
Everything was good
Didn’t have a breakfast and location was great
Bed was very hard as were pillows. WiFi signal poor , but expected with such an old property.
Lovely setting with big gardens. Car parking was brilliant. Very convenient for the town centre & an easy walk. The room was a good size with views of the sea. When we arrived we'd been given a double which we asked to be made to a twin ( we were family not a couple) and this was rectified. Beds were comfortable. Shower & bathroom in a reasonable sized bathroom. Plenty of towels. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were adequate. Great bar area and plenty of seating areas inside & out & bar prices were reasonable.
Very small things - breakfast was continental & served in a lovely space but somehow bland, limited choice of fresh fruit. They seem to be running on a skeleton staff so you had to take the person away from one job to do another. The shower temperature was lethal & hard to adjust. We would stay again but have to say it felt a little lacking in soul, maybe it's too early in the season but they could do with cheering the place up a bit. Lighting in the room was all or nothing. A few table lamps might help.
Location, professional staff, comfortable room and bed. The views from room forty where outstanding. Plenty of parking and very central.
Beautiful gardens and a historic building in the heart of Swanage. The lady on reception was really friendly - she showed us some of the old rooms and told us the history of the house. We had a secure place to store our bikes, Can also recommend Pier Head fish restaurant
