Breakfast is continental style but with huge choice.
We have stayed before and hopefully again in the future.

Pros:

Lovely setting with big gardens. Car parking was brilliant. Very convenient for the town centre & an easy walk. The room was a good size with views of the sea. When we arrived we'd been given a double which we asked to be made to a twin ( we were family not a couple) and this was rectified. Beds were comfortable. Shower & bathroom in a reasonable sized bathroom. Plenty of towels. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were adequate. Great bar area and plenty of seating areas inside & out & bar prices were reasonable.

Cons:

Very small things - breakfast was continental & served in a lovely space but somehow bland, limited choice of fresh fruit. They seem to be running on a skeleton staff so you had to take the person away from one job to do another. The shower temperature was lethal & hard to adjust. We would stay again but have to say it felt a little lacking in soul, maybe it's too early in the season but they could do with cheering the place up a bit. Lighting in the room was all or nothing. A few table lamps might help.

Pros:

Beautiful gardens and a historic building in the heart of Swanage. The lady on reception was really friendly - she showed us some of the old rooms and told us the history of the house. We had a secure place to store our bikes, Can also recommend Pier Head fish restaurant
