Wonderful house and location.
Pros:

Fabulous old house and grounds, warm and snug though there was a tempest outside. Breakfast excellent.

Cons:

Very quiet but it was off season.

Pros:

Nice old property with a good lounge/bar area.

Cons:

It was a shame we were in the lodge rather than the main building as the room, although comfortable, was fairly standard and lacked character. The bathroom was also a little tired and needed some updating.

DISAPPOINTING
Pros:

Room was comfortable and clean but a long walk from the main hotel.
No view of the sea. Short walk to town centre.

Cons:

I was not offered help with my case on arrival. Am elderly 90 year old.
Water exceedingly hot with no warning and unable to operate shower that seemed rather old fashioned.
TV signal very poor.
Continental breakfast adequate but could have been more varied and not really what I expected but good forthe price..

A very enjoyable stay once again.
Pros:

The hotel is full of character and has beautiful original features. Great location a short walk to the bars, restaurants, shops and seafront of Swanage. The large private car park is a real bonus. Our room (in the main hotel building) was lovely and quiet with a comfortable bed and good facilities. The hotel bar offers a good selection of reasonably priced drinks. We have stayed at Purbeck House on several occasions over the years and will definitely return.

Cons:

Nothing really to complain about, though we were slightly disappointed that the cooked breakfast wasn't available on this visit as this has been a highlight of previous stays at this hotel. A slightly more powerful shower would be nice.

Lovely stay in historic building
Pros:

Lovely views, spacious in shared areas, really
interesting old building with lots of original historic
features. The shared areas are fabulous and totally
underused. Don't know why they don't advertise
cream teas. Really need a good hotel manager and
gardener.

Cons:

Bathroom needs an update and shower not very
good. Dirty windows and frames need a paint.
Night staff not keen to serve drinks in bar even
though they advertise it on a sign outside. He was
rather rude and told one customer to go to a pub
instead.
