Location was great
My instance in this hotel was ok the hotel is old the beds are uncomfortable the showers don't work well I had to call more than 2 times for them to come and change them I even changed rooms and for my bad luck the room had cockroaches every picture in this add is old there aren’t the actual picture just have that in mind …..
Pokoje małe i ciasne, mało miejsca i brak półek.
No había agua caliente.
First, the staff are friendly and helpful. This is one of the 2 saving graces of this hotel. The other plus for this hotel is its location. It's right on the beach. Which can be a plus when the beach is usable. I would add that the hotel rooms, while extremely dated and worst for ware, were clean.
This is a 1 star hotel in a 5 star location. It has all the potential to be a great boutique hotel ... but dropped the ball ages ago. The rooms do not look like the pictures online. They are beyond dated. makeshift repairs, cracked and broken things repaired poorly in every direction. Countertops all scratched up, written on, carved on, and graffitti. In short the rooms are worn-out. The walls are barren of any sort of decorations. Bedside lamp from a thrift shop ... with a lampshade that had been spray-painted blue.
This isn't the hotels fault but be aware that the Sargasso seaweed can pile up and rot on the beach. It's bad enough that it smells like a pod of whales took a dump in your nose. If you're looking for white sand, sea breezes, any turquoise waters ... you may get brown mounds, brown septic like sludge in the water, and you have to wade hip deep through it to get to the less-brown water. I grew up on the ocean. I love the ocean, but even after I struggled through the brown rotting sludge, the visibility out past it was still bad. The hotel can't control nature, but if you are bothered by the smell of rot, it may be an issue for you.
Which brings me to the pool. We stayed at this hotel so that I could go diving. The dive shop uses the hotel pool for the dive training/classes. The hotel decided to drain the pool and in doing so caused the dive shop to cancel the dive classes for the day. The entire point of us going to Puerto Morelos for a few days was so that I could do a few dives. I mentioned this when booking the hotel. As such the entire stay was a waste of money because the hotel decided to drain the pool overnight.
In the end we spent 2 nights in a very rundown hotel room, no pool to use, with a beach covered in piles of rotting sludge.
Staff was great, and the food to purchase at the restaurant was good.
Need updates real bad, look like a kid put them room together. Ex: sink put in very messy, caulk all over the place. Furniture old, curtains look dingy and dirty and got holes in them.
On the beach
Very run down hotel requiring maintenance in many areas. Please note pictures from recent customers and NOT the ones on the website!
