Wasn’t expensive, but could be so much better with a little more effort.
Pros:

Location, had a good pub next door.

Cons:

The breakfast was poor, supposed to be gluten free but it wasn’t ! I was ill for 24 hrs afterwards. Lacks atmosphere unlike next door.

Comfortable clean rooms and very friendly staff
Pros:

Second time I have stayed in this hotel. Exceptionally clean room, comfortable bed and bedding. Welcoming and friendly staff. Cosy warm rooms.

Cons:

TV aerial did not work so none of the channels on the television worked. I did report this to the hotel staff but limited could be done. There was a lot of repetitive machinery/mechanical noise at night which I could hear from my room which made falling asleep difficult. Parking can be far away if you do not get space in the hotel parking area.

Disappointing stay, let down badly by poor-quality food and terrible kitchen service.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The room was very small and cramped, and the bathroom wasn’t particularly great either, but the biggest issue by far was the food and kitchen service in the evening.

A large proportion of the menu was unavailable, which left us with very limited choice. We eventually ordered two lasagnes, but when they arrived, one was completely cold in the centre and clearly hadn’t been heated through properly. The other was hot, but the quality was still very poor.

We returned the cold lasagne as it was genuinely inedible, only to be told that it had been the last one available. We then ordered the hunter’s chicken instead, which meant we ended up having to eat separately. Although this was at least hot, again the quality of the food was really not good.

I do want to say that the front-of-house staff did their best to deal with the situation and removed the cost of the hunter’s chicken from the bill, which we appreciated. However, by that point the damage had really been done.

The whole experience was so disappointing that we didn’t even consider having breakfast there the following morning. Unfortunately, not somewhere we would choose to stay or eat again.

Good for location.

Very convenient location. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

My room was in the ‘annex’ which was a small building attached to the main property. The wall between my room and the next room was so thin I could hear them snoring all night. The room was dusty (picture of spider cob web above bed attached) and could have been cleaner. Smelt a bit musty too. Breakfast was disappointing.
