Disappointing stay — serious water, electricity, and transparency issues. June, 2026

I stayed at Coconut Residence & Spa with my wife and our 7-month-old baby, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.

The biggest issue was the repeated lack of running water. At times there was no water during the day or night. One night I woke up to use the bathroom and could not even wash my hands. Another time, I was washing my baby in the shower and the water suddenly stopped. That is unacceptable for any hotel, especially one presenting itself as a luxury or 5-star property.

There were also electricity problems, and the generator did not seem strong enough to support the property or the water system properly. Staff tried to treat it like a tap issue, but the real problem appeared to be poor infrastructure, weak water storage, and an insufficient generator setup.

The service was also not professional. I was repeatedly asked about payment even though I told them to charge the card on file. I also called the phone numbers listed on their website, but no one answered. Reception later told me those numbers belong to the CEO and he does not pick up, which makes no sense for guest support.

Most staff were polite, but being nice is not the same as being transparent or professionally managed. The hotel looks polished online, but the reality did not match the photos or the 5-star image. During my stay, some activity also appeared staged for appearances, which added to the feeling that the property is being presented in a misleading way.

Water and electricity are basic requirements, not luxury features. I would not pay this amount again for this level of reliability and service, and I would not recommend staying here unless these issues are seriously fixed.

Poor hotel facilities, pool was dirty, the pool facilities were dirty and old. The restaurant was very poor. The breakfast wa very poor, cold and very small portions. Presentation was poor.

I liked everything.

The location is a bit further from the beach and across a busy road. But it is not such a big deal. 5min to the main touristic area and the neighborhood feels safe.

Det fanns inte mycket som vi inte tyckte om men mer fin justeringar som behövs. Det först var att i vårat rum som var i huvudbyggnaden rum nr 2 så fanns det inte en hel spegel som man kunde spegla dig i utan det fans en liten spegel i badrummet. Kylskåpet kunde ha stått på ett litet bord istället för på golvet. Ett uttag mellan sängarna var lös så vågade inte ladda där men det fanns andra ställen i rummet att ladda vid. Alla pooler var inte igång eller den som var närmast oss var inte ren så man kunde inte bada i den. Vi hade rummet längst ner och där kunde det stå bilar som förstörde lite av den fantastiska utsikten. De hade en bra parkeringsplats utanför hotellet där bilarna kunde stå istället för utanför rummet men överlag så var vi helnöjda med vår vistelse.
