Love location
Room was far too hot . So uncomfortable to sleep in . Even eating dinner very hot day window open and next to radiator on
Lovely hotel, currently in the process of being renovated, but this did not affect our stay. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We had to move rooms, and this was done smoothly with no issues.
The second room, whilst not one that had been renovated, actually felt like an upgrade. It was very spacious. Two windows and a very comfortable bathroom again with a window.
We were travelling with our dog. She was made very welcome.
Parking is ample and onsite and the location is excellent.
In our first room, the radiator was stuck on. It was 26° outside and we were travelling with our wee dog.
We expressed that it was not suitable for the dog to stay in the room.
We were quickly switched rooms.
If travelling with a dog, meals are served in the conservatory. This is a beautiful area but a bit away from the restaurant so you feel a bit like the cousin no one wants at a wedding.
We jad to leave first night the heat was unbearable my dog need a vet after it he couldnt breath because heat
If they helped a bit but ddnt told us not to book out we were there 10 hours and had to get someone to cum gt us after midnight
The bedroom was clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent with the bonus of not being a hot buffet but ordered and served together with tea/coffee. Why don't other hostelries revert to this instead of "hot buffet"?
Location very good.
Hotel a little "tired" in some aspects.
The location
The door to the room was very difficult to open , but they were going to get a fixed . Otherwise very quiet and clean room .
Bed was comfortable, bar was open all day and reception staff were very nice.
Bathroom was good, tea and coffee but a bottle of water would have been nice.
Easy walk up to the village pub and shop.
Pool and gym was a nice touch but the pool had far too many laminated warning and rule signs which for me took away from the atmosphere a little.
Well priced for the area and left well rested
Big girl behind the bar not very friendly.
Had a radiator in the room that wouldn't turn off which wasn't ideal as the weather was hot. Had to cover the radiator with a blanket to minimise the heat in the room. Asked for a fan that never arrived.
Room felt tired, and In need of modernisation.
Otherwise it was a very good stay.
Comfy bed ,clean room with everything that you need for a chill night !
The hotel was well decorated x furnished. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The spa area was lovely with the swimming pool steam room x sauna.
The central heating was on everywhere x made it very uncomfortable even. The concervatory was like an oven even though they had air conditioning units running such a waste of energy. The radiators in our corridor were on x our bedroom. Not just warm but too hot to touch boiling. I asked if they could be turned off but apparently not. The weather was hot 25 degrees. It made sleeping very uncomfortable. I was in room number 51 x my friends in 50 both rooms had at least one radiator on each. The curtains in room 51 were not fixed on the hooks properly so hanging badly. It was a shame as it ruined the stay with the heat problem.
Very friendly helpful staff , very good pool ,steam room ,sauna and jacuzzi
They had a problem with heating and parts of the hotel was very hot .
The direct doors to the spa were broken and you had to walk out the hotel and round the building to accesd
It was in the perfect place
They said Scottish breakfast . No square sausage no potato scones . So no at all a Scottish breakfast . Also the maid did not clean the room at all one of the days . I am disabled . Asked for the help with the case. To go up the stairs. As there is not lift . There was no one to help with this . A guest helped in the end. The lady behind the counter did not care at all .
The staff was really friendly and helpful.
The price was fair for the type of the hotel. The location is nice, close to a few hiking routes.
Breakfast could have been a bit better. Whilst there are vegan/vegetarian options for cooked breakfast, the continental assortment didn't have any dairy free options. It would be good to include dairy free milk, a variety of spreads (peanut butter). The fruit wasn't fresh.
The room wasn't air-conditioned which made it really hot at night. Not a regular complaint for Scotland but during our two day stay the weather was quite hot.
The pool at the end of a hot day walking
Decor is a bit tired but the price was reasonable
