We arrived at 18:20. The restaurant was shut. We had no prior warning that the restaurant suit at 18:00. What type of place suggests it is a hotel with no food offering. The room was ok for one person too cramped for two and overlooked a ghastly roof. We were told when we got there breakfast was served from 9-10 a.m. ridiculous especially when they had already charged us for breakfast. We had to leave at 8:30 for a 9 a.m. meeting. This place should not not allowed to advertising itself as a hotel but a pub that had bolted on some rooms. I would avoid it.
The lady that checked me in was very friendly and nice to me. I was very surprised at how good my room was. It had everything you needed (other than a fridge). Well decorated room.
Not that it is the property's fault, but it was quite a distance to both Newcastle and Sunderland. Also, just buy a small fridge for the room, makes a big difference.

The room was quirky, well decorated, clean, comfortable and quiet we got a great nights sleep on a very cosy bed.
All staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful, especially to make changes to the menu and get fruit for breakfast as an off menu option, it was greatly appreciated.
The food was devine, evening meal and breakfast, were high quality, fresh and well cooked, compliments to the chef.

Well-provisioned and comfortable room. Very clean and cozy with nice, welcoming staff. Would recommend if traveling in the area and not wanting to be in central Newcastle.
Nothing major that we didn't like. A shower mat might be handy, though, as it can be a bit slippery.

The pipework was a bit noisy when using the shower, sink and flushing the toilet
