Beautiful old gem of a hotel right by the river.
Pros:

Good location across from the river and walking distance to restaurants. Very nice and simple breakfast. The hotel itself is really beautiful, an old gem. I would definitely stay here again. Drinks on the patio on the river while the sun sets were great!

Cons:

Rare hotel in Laos that did not offer any assistance with booking onward travel - but they did point me to one option that did resolve the issue.

Pros:

I don't understand the mediocre reviews. I loved this place. And the staff was very friendly. They let me check in early, at about 10:30 in the morning. Very nice people. The view from the balcony was fantastic and given it overlooks the street, it was quiet. AC worked great. I really like all of the wood in the room and the hotel. It had basement parking for my bike. Very good, safe and clean, with a very friendly staff. French vibes for sure..

Cons:

The sound on the T.V. had issues.
